America deserves the post-apocalypse it dreams of. I'd prefer some gardens and solar panels, though.

Democrats will turn out and hold their nose and vote Hillary just like republicans will do the same for Jeb. Republicans will lose because they will do terrible than normal among women voters, and that'll be the difference.

Bernie doesn't have a shot in hell of getting the nomination, but moving Hillary to the left and having her adopt some populist positions is all he's really looking for.

Nonsense. Bernie will win, we will bask in the nation we always wished for and spoke of but never thought we could achieve, and there will be another baby boom as millenials finally feel like they can count on something beyond the next paycheck.

We will have rad as gently caress scifi infrastructure repairs, we will go to space, and we will go to the doctor when we are sick, and not just when we are dying.

An old, angry man will lead us, and we will donate to kickstarter when he needs a robot body.

I heard that Bernie encountered a woman being eaten by an alligator during a fact-finding mission, broke up the fight, and got the alligator a job working at TCBY.

Truly, a Peacemaker.

Most of the problems in the world today are due to overpopulation; if we suddenly had a thousandth of the population most of those problems would disappear. Admittedly the near-term poisoning of the atmosphere and loss of biodiversity would present significant challenges, but the best road forward for humanity and the health of the planet may be a nuclear holocaust or other mass extinction event. All I'm saying is maybe it'd be like burning a forest every once in a while so it can start anew, maybe it'd work out okay.

This statement, and its various extrapolations, are inherently false. What you perceive as 'over-population' is the operation of the capitalist system, wherein vulnerability and poverty are essential resources for the maintenance of marginal production advantages. If 9/10 of the world's population disappeared, there would be widespread ecological destruction as existing infrastructure and hazardous containment facilities degraded. The global food system would collapse, as would all international trade. The 'problems' you see are inherent in the current arrangement, and have nothing to do with the sheer number of human beings involved. If this were so, we wouldn't have had all the same problems at the beginning of the century (even if we didn't know about them), when the population was halved. Likewise, other civilizations wouldn't have had them, when their populations were fractions of today's number.

We have enough food, water, electricity, and walls to house and maintain the health of everyone. We choose not to so that people can wear sweatpants in Starbucks while staring at cat videos on their watches, and CEOs can crash yachts for fun. The very concept of overpopulation is a fatalistic forfeit in the struggle for social justice and human decency, and an accession to the defamatory claims of the current power structure towards those who exist in penury to serve their whim.

As such, I am burnin for Bernie.

Edit: We also have the technology to maintain current population levels in a sustainable fashion, if significant shifts in production and distribution of goods - primarily food - were to occur. Thus it is perhaps better to think of our current problems not as ones of 'over' population, but of populations unable to successfully access available avenues for adaptation and systemic re-organization.

If Bernie were elected, and his health declined, would we be comfortable with a cybernetically augmented president? Who would be the contractor that builds his robot body? What particular defensive/offensive capabilities would the American people like to see in a robot president?

WHAT ABOUT CRIMINAL JUSTICE? Maybe inmates can work in the arcologies to develop essential work and social skills, and also learn how to grow a tomato in a busted drain pipe.

It's time to move beyond cynicism, beyond the fatalistic submission. It is time to re-organize, and re-mobilize. It is time to augment our elected officials with nueral interface tactical drone manipulation capability, and to arm those drones with ice cream and kisses. It is time for Bernie Sanders.

Ironically, with Bernie we will burn less, as we will work as a nation to convert our transportation and energy infrastructure to non-carbon producing modes. Nevertheless, here we are: burning for bernie.
