Must be clear out the squares time, Amazon is discounting the Sony SmartWatch 3 off of the standard price of $249.

How much discount you get depends on which color band you're willing to accept (currently showing approx. $150 - $170).

LG may be planning to one up the Huawei Watch's 286ppi display with a pixel density of around 340 to 400 ppi. I hope they have enough SoC oomph to drive it.

Just kidding, it's round-with-flat-tire and runs Android Wear.

I wonder how similar it will prove to be to the TAG Heuer design, which is also being done in collaboration with Intel.

I don't understand what Google is doing with Wear, none of the Android Wear tech is exactly cutting edge so I don't understand why they are having such a hard time getting their partners to push out hardware in a timely manner.

I mean take the Urbane, it is physically identical to the G R besides the case and even it trickled out on to the market when the G R was already in mass production on the same line.

Personally I get the impression that right now the partners are waiting for Google. Next rev of Android Wear software based on Android M?

I think all of them are using Qualcomm 400 chips.

As Tunga said, with Android Wear Google doesn't let the OEMs handle making and updating their ROM, instead the devices must be approved by Google and Google handles building and distributing the ROMs and updates.

This is good because all Wear devices get new OTAs within a few weeks of each other; the flip side is the hardware OEMs are less free to experiment and differentiate themselves, and the specs tend to work out extremely similarly. Based on how it worked out with phones, I think it's a good tradeoff to make.

Smartwatch is LCD, Zenwatch is AMOLED.
Smartwatch has NFC, not sure if that even does anything yet, does Android Pay support it? I'm in the UK so not really familiar as the service doesn't exist here.
Smartwatch is IP68, Zenwatch is IP67, though probably equally waterproof for the purpose of being a watch.

That's about it I think.

No, they both use the Snapdragon 400. All currently available Android Wear watches use the same Snapdragon 400 processor, except the original Moto 360.

It's worth noting that the Smartwatch 3's display is a transflective LCD, this means that the display can be seen without powering the backlight if there is enough ambient light, such as in a bright office environment or outdoors during the day. This fact, combined with the fact that it has a built-in GPS chip and that it's hard to find any band option other than the rubber fitness band, make it more of a "fitness oriented" smartwatch. The Smartwatch 3 charges with a standard micro USB port, the same as most Android phones, which is nice in terms of not needing a proprietary charger but means you need to fiddle with opening the rubber protective flap with your fingernail and lining up the cable each time you need to charge it.

The Zenwatch 2 is available in 2 sizes and a few different color / band choices, making it more of a "fashion oriented" watch. It requires a proprietary charge base to charge.

Performance is as good as any other Android Wear watch.

It's probably one of the smallest, or at least smallest-looking, choices in the Android Wear world, which is nice if you are of the narrow-wristed persuasion.

It has move to wake up, but doesn't seem to support using gestures to move through the card stack for some reason.

Overall I like it. And plus, that Star Trek LCARS watch face looks good on a square device.
