It's the most wonderful time of the year. Warm up your swingometers, grab a few bottles of Fluo's Fermented Piss, cozy up with your favourite yellow-rosetted buddy and prepare to drink yourself into oblivion.

With one week to go who knows what the gently caress will happen? Cleggers still may lose his seat, Farage may fail to win his (hopefully leading to UKIP's final demise) and we're still not sure whether Labour/LD will win 1 seat north of the border or 0.

Remember: the polling stations open at 7am, Thursday 7th May and close at 10pm. Every single election there's a huge crush of people near closing time so get there as early as possible!. Also remember that regulations mean that there won't be any worthwhile coverage until the polls close.

Strap yourselves in comrades; it's going to be a messy one.

Drink when you see/ hear:
* new BBC ridiculous graphics
* "long term economic plan"
* a Scottish Labour seat fall to the SNP
* "the battle between Labour and Conservatives is too close to call"
* constituency footage of an incumbent candidate failing re-election live on stage
* Ed Miliband looking vaguely personable
* "hard-working families"
* the BBC making dull footage exciting with a fade to grey and interspersed graphics
* Jeremy Vine points to the wrong bit of the absurd graphics behind him

Drink continuously throughout footage of:
* Nigel's gurning face
* the green party (I think we're safe here)
* the BBC's chosen metaphor for the entire event getting tortured to breaking point

Down your drink when:
* Nick Clegg loses his seat
* Nigel Farage fails/ gets elected
* George Osbourne cries

Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
'CONTROLS ON IMMIGRATION'

I've already sent off my postal vote for the Scottish Greens, because I'm a big fan of mostly futile gestures, apparently. Then again, if the SNP in my constituency turn a 13-point lead in the Ashcroft constituency poll into a low enough lead to be ruined by a handful of Green voters that's their own drat fault. When Patrick Harvie ascends to godhood as is foretold the tactical voters shall be the first to feel his wrath. Tremble in fear, all ye.

Alistair Carmichael will keep his seat, fear not. Paddy Power have Tim Farron as favourite though at 8/11. Next is Norman Lamb at 5/1 & then Ed Davey & Vince Cable at 7/1.

Anyway, probably going to vote for the Greens. SNP seem like they are going to win around here, and I'm not going to vote for a party that Rupert Murdoch endorses. Besides, they don't need my vote to knock off Danny Alexander.
