BYOB was not very helpful about this. Full disclosure: I think I love soldiers more than cops, even though I think it's possible that cops have a harder job. The fact is there's just something about defending our freedoms that I love, and also the devil may care attitude and camaraderie that I hear soldiers have. I can also imagine loving a soldier lady, but to be honest, whenever I imagine loving a cop lady, it seems like it would be pretty boring and she might just spend the whole time rolling her eyes and telling me I'm not doing it right. A soldier lady would just go with it, I think, because even if I'm terrible, I'm sure she's seen worse. On the other hand, I feel like propaganda does a better job at making soldiers look better. Like it's still possible to find a movie or TV show that portrays a soldier as a heroic and fundamentally noble person, whereas all cop shows nowadays have to feature flawed people that are secret drug addicts or cheating on their wives. So maybe I'm biased? I would hate to think I'm just following along with whatever society tells me. The truth is I don't really know much about either. I suppose I think I would probably do a couple of tours in a war zone than face mortal danger day-in, day-out as a cop for years and years and years. It's pretty admirable to put yourself on the line like that, not just for a few months or years, but for a lifetime, no matter what it does to your soul. However, even taking that into account, I still can't bring myself to love cops as much as I love soldiers. I guess in the end, love isn't about *should* anyway, so the title of the thread isn't quite right. I would just like to know if there's anything I'm missing that might make me love LEOs more, or whether maybe there's a way I could even love soldiers more (not likely). Thank you for your time.
