Also, wearing the Gaia Gear and wielding the Air Knife helps by multiplying the damage of like 90% of the Geomancer attacks.

I just started a pre-Fiesta run of GBA by the way since I've never played GBA before; is all of the added content like new jobs World 3/postgame stuff? And if I decide to run it instead of SFAM this year, is there a comprehensive list of version differences I can look at?

The best new content though is throughout the entire game: the new translation.

drat, the first phase of Exdeath is harder than Neo-Exdeath. Almost crushed him the first time, but then every time I get While Hole'd to death before reaching NED.

God loving dammit, I just can't finish NED. I've only been able to Break the Almagest part once, the first time I fought it and almost won. Every other time it just fails.

There's lots of tricks that you can do to make NED a non-issue but it mostly depends on team comp.

Yeah. The Odin-able part has never been a problem thanks to Magic Lamp, but the Break-able part just refuses to be petrified again after my almost-succesful first fight.

On the other hand, keep using the Magic Lamp to get Catoblepas and you'll have a 1/(however many pieces are left) shot of having it target the petrify-able part, which should work 100% of the time like the Magic Lamp part. Is that right? It sounds about right.

Also, apparently Magic Lamp Catoblepas targets all enemies in the Android/iOS version, so if you're playing that, you've got a free pass there.

Might try that, or grinding. Stuck with Red Mage/Black Mage, Doublezerker, so dualcasting break was my black mage's job.

Edit: Catoblepas does hit everyone on iOS, but does not work 100% of the time. :smith:
