My favorite experimental sound is Ratatat. They have a new LP dropping on July 17th. No one sounds like them. No one comes close.

I have no clue what any of this means.

For the last five years they have released nothing, nada, not a thing. Five years is a long time. Five years is enough to lose hope.

Magnifique.

Magnifique, July 17th.

I loved Classics. Somewhere between LP3 and LP4 I said "Okay, I get it, I don't need any more of this." But I just listened to "Cream on Chrome" and thought it was good. so maybe its been long enough that I can enjoy them again?

I am hopeful because of the time that has passed but I didn't think RAM was that good and I'll show myself out.

LP4 should of stayed in the vault. It was bad.

Lots of Ratatat's best songs came in LP4 imo.

Babies.

My friend has a theory that Ratatat hasn't actually not-released anything in the past five years, they've just been doing it on the down low.

My biggest suspicion is Kanye's "Hold My Liquor" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsgx7ZPSrfQ at 3:35 - apparently Mike Dean said he'd never heard of Ratatat before people brought up the similarities :tinfoil:

It was good but all of their best songs are from their mixtapes, actually.

Yeah those are pretty much my feelings too. The self-titled and Classics are, for lack of a better word, classics to me. But I listened to LP3 and LP4 and they just never hit me the way the first 2 LPs did. But I do love Ratatat's sound and I would like to hear more of it if it's done well.

I'm 100% sure he heard ratatat subconsciously through a commercial or bump music. Their licensing strategy is pretty prolific: say yes to everything.

Yeah "Rome" is my fav track too. "Drift" is annoying as hell tho... sounds like the music version of a younger sibling trying to piss you off.

I MAY LOOK LIKE SHIT BUT IM ALSO DUMB AS FUCK

I really loved their debut, but for some reason upon hearing the first five minutes of Classics in '06 I decided that Ratatat is elevator music.

Sorta wish I could go back to that original feeling.

This was me, and then I realized the first LP is pretty much that too, and then I tried to give my Classics LP away but no one would take it.

Just saw them live yesterday and it was a fantastic show. Would definitely recommend going if they come to your city.

I saw them earlier this week and they were incredible. The lights during Nightclub Amnesia nearly fried my retinas in the best way possible. They had nonstop energy and even dove into the crowd at the end of the encore. At the end of the show all anyone was talking about on the way out was how great it was. Can't recommend this tour highly enough for anyone who is even remotely interested, even if you have to pay an extra $20+ on stubhub.

yeah Nightclub Amnesia is the highlight of the show. Not that there are any bad moments, it's just such a goddamn climax :fap:
