Dungeon World
Torchbearer
Numenara

I'm reading the rules of Torchbearer and it sounds tight but idk if it's going to sustain a long campaign. What do my imps have to say?

Yeah I like the 13th Age one the best, then Numenera as a second. Dungeon World was okay for me. Never played Torchbearer.

Same boat, OP, on Torchbearer. Looks cool, but don't know how long it will last. 13A and DW are good games, but 13A is the most likely of the bunch to substain a long game.

Numenera is what happens when a game dev never leaves his comfort zone then tries to be indie with ideas that have been done to death. Also, it's a scifi setting that tries to hype up the world rising and falling nine times...then never mentions loving poo poo about any other time. Not even hints for like story hooks and poo poo.

FATAL is also a good option if you like sadomasochism. It's both in the game itself and playing the game is a form of it.

how much do you/your friends care about tactical combat, OP? are you planning on starting a long campaign, or are you thinking more about running one-shots or shorter games? are you addicted specifically to orc/elf tolkein fantasy?

We like combat, but I think we prefer out of combat problem solving more.

Nobody is really interested in learning and reading a bunch of lore prior to starting the game so I think 13th Age is out. How easy is Exalted to learn from the leak document?

right now it's pretty newbie friendly mechanically but it is exactly the opposite of what you want when it comes to not requiring a whole bunch of lore.

honestly 13th Age isn't that super lore heavy, most of the setting is just a lot of nonsense you make up with your players.
