The more I read over DRK the more it seems like it has an absurdly high skill ceiling where you want to maintain uptime on Grit (moreso than other tank classes due to their significantly lower HP) and Darkside (for DPS)

So far I haven't had a reason to ever turn darkside off, and the only time I shut off grit is on bosses after initial threat is established. I think I've dropped darkside exactly once by accident while leveling and that was because I was talking on the phone and not paying attention.

Darkside might actually become interesting to manage after 50 though. I mean, this is just leveling dungeon poo poo thus far.

Amending this post:

So, Dark Arts actually adds a poo poo ton of effects to abilities. None of them mention it until you actually complete the L45 quest and GET Dark Arts. It's baked into the tooltips of Carve & Spit and Abyssal Drain. The rest of the tooltips are modular and update only when you unlock Dark Arts.

It consumes ~30% of your MP (give or take) and does things like making Dark Dance gain +20% evasion, or add extra enmity (again) to Power Slash. It affects a whole lotta things. THIS is where your MP management comes in.

yeah they did. they doubled the main story exp and it will feed you a full set of i110 gear by the end so you don't have to struggle to grind gear or anything.

Can't take you seriously, when you talk about SS the party is now much better, when it pretty much does not stop any damage anymore. Stoneskin is good in exactly one situation: When someone got 10k health and you know there will be a hit for 10,1k. Else it would be just dumb to cast it, because it is expensive like poo poo.

End Game Raiding is by the way not the "bigger picture". Endgame Raiding is the little Freak Show for ~1% of the players. And it was never the point, that Whm can't heal anymore. There was no nerf. But every healer class can do that (and shield much better, too, now even more than before).

That Raw Intuition thing is obviously a ridiculous bug.

What you miss is a comparison. Throwing in single numbers is worthless.

Friends have asked me why I am bothering with roulette for post-50 leveling. Here's some rough numbers in case other people aren't aware!

High Level roulette is worth about 13.5% of a level.
Main Story roulette is about 13.5%.
Low Level roulette is about 18.5% and gives kill exp*.
Trial roulette is about 7%.
Guildhest roulette is about 3% and gives kill exp*.

I don't think Trial roulette is particularly worth it because you can spend half an hour wiping in Chrysalis or whatever. Guildhests take like, five minutes tops. So basically about half a level a day if all you do is run roulettes.

*this isn't super significant but it's still a non-zero number.

run lldr, hldr and main story roulettes. the exp starts to fall off a bit later but hldr and ms are still about 10% of a level each at 55 and lldr is about 15%.

guildhest is about 1% and trial about 3%.
