The dog only shows up for like one chapter, for a flashback where Yuki finds it and then it turns out its infected and they kill it, afaik. It's either already dead and she's imagining it, or they are making you get attached to it when it will eventually be killed

That was a really good last episode, even though it didn't really follow the manga. The only scene I was really looking forward to being in the anime didn't quite happen though. Edit: spoilering it just incase http://imgur.com/a/05oLR And this is the alternate way the fire started in the manga, along with what they took inspiration from for the post credits scene in the final episode, which I thought would have been way more dramatic so I'm surprised they didn't use it. http://imgur.com/a/yg8qz and it then crashes in front of the school and explodes.
