http://9to5mac.com/2015/07/17/psa-cracked-apple-watch-screen/ My wife took her Apple Watch off in the evening to charge before she washed her face, but decided to wear it just a little longer to get credit for standing and reach her activity goal. When she removed it at the sink to wash her face, it slipped from her grip and hit the sink’s countertop. Not the floor a few feet below, but the sink, a drop only inches down.

mobile is worst but cross-platform, websites are all getting annoying with retarded UI designs. when i scroll up i'm trying to reread something i scrolled by too quickly, not trying to make a useless navigation banner pop out of nowhere and hide the exact text i was just scrolling up to see. or it has a banner always on top but it either takes up 1/3 of the screen or fucks up page-at-a-time scrolling bc its floating or whatever

trilljester posted:SwiftKey is better than Swype, but the implementation on iOS is shoddy. 3rd party Keyboards crash apps, freeze in Messages or revert back to stock keyboard. Best stick with the stock keyboard. most of that is fixed in the 9.1 beta btw, but awful.app still crashes with 3rd party kbs when you compose replies also swiftkey is not as good at swipe typing as Swype

so i tried the pencil out in the store and it was nearly the same experience as the microsoft tablet pcs from 10 years ago, lag-wise. that is to say, if you write quickly to jot down notes, there is a small, but perceptible lag (its worse in 3rd party apps, but definitely there in apple's own Notes app) that is one of those things that gets distracting in that you always kinda notice it. i had high hopes that their totally different tech would allow them to eliminate any perceptible lag.. in addition, the wacom pens have the nice feature where you flip them around and the back end works like an eraser automatically. the apple pencil doesn't, even though it could-- the back end is the charging port instead. which reminds me, wacom pens don't need charging, and apple pencils can't charge while the ipad pro is plugged in to charge. so basically im disappointed in the pencil. one thing i'll say is it has great palm-rejection, but of course wacom pens don't have that issue at all

Silver Alicorn posted:really they should have like put the Lightning connector on a short cord inside the pencil, so it flops around instead of sticking out ramrod straight there is some sort of flex mechanism that makes it bend and fall out of the port when stressed instead of snapping, but yeah its loving stupid and this is one use case where some sort of bespoke inductive charging setup makes more sense, especially if it lasts all day anyway still really annoyed that its called a pencil but doesn't have an eraser on the end like tablet pens. you dont need fancy angle sensors like the front part, just a basic pressure sensor in the endcap, or even just let the cap mechanically transmit pressure to something measuring it in the body of the pencil. hoping this is the rough 1st pass and they chose base technology that they will refine and improve in time
