Hey guys, I'm looking for more nerd stuff (books, documentaries, etc) to chew on. I know that I adore this documentary about Netscape rushing to push Mozilla (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q7FTjhvZ7Y) back in '98, and this book detailing the history of id software (Masters of Doom), and I'm looking for more stuff like that. So basically non-fiction cyberpunk (for lack of a better word). Much better if it's not dry academic-feeling stuff, but really any story about this area would be great. Anyone got something?

There was a BBC drama about the rivalry between Clive Sinclair and Chris Curry in the British home computer market that was pretty good. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro_Men

I really liked "Countdown to Zero day". Basically, it's a very well written and researched look into the development of the Stuxnet digital weapon and the whole world of commercial anti-virus and security research. Pretty interesting stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Countdown-Zer...own+to+zero+day

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No2vGvu3B4U don't read the comments some idiot claimed you could get the same result from a 3D printer. That claim is off topic because it's fiction.

You have to read Brian Bagnall's book(s) about Commodore. The first, On the Edge, was a blast, just loaded with exhaustive research and interviews with everyone he could find, setting everything out perfectly from the overall narrative to the people involved to the technology itself. Then he split it into two volumes the size of the original book, one covering the company under Jack Tramiel's leadership and one (to be released in December) picking up after his departure, and if you have any investment in the subject, you should get those instead. An equally emotional and grounded take on a complex and tragic story, always driven by the people involved and giving everyone (even the "villains") their due.
