In grad school I knew quite a few people whose parents were helping them out a little here and there - covering their car insurance or helping out with rent, etc. But among others this was always met with extreme derision. If someone mentioned that John's parents pay his cell phone bill, there were always choice words for John, but never including "oh, that's nice they can do that." I never really understood it, but it seems to be a pretty common thing. Honestly, I think 90% of it is regular old jealousy, not "god you're such a millennial." To qualify this, my parents don't support me in any way financially and never have in my adult life.

The bad thing about being able to grow a really good beard is that your chances of balding skyrocket. I think there's a hormone or something that's responsible for a number of secondary sex characteristics, and balding and facial hair growth are both regulated by it.
