if I can't be an anime villain and betray my federation so that I can turn us all into energy beings or some other stand-in for eastern religious nirvana or whatever just because I personally have issues with interpersonal relationships then I too will not be playing stellaris

I wonder if the Spanish Civil War will actually be interesting this time around.

The divergences mod for vicky2 would be so good if it didn't come with pop demand. Finally, a reason to play as aragon in something, but nevermind more useless goods for my capitalists to go bankrupt with

I am admittedly worse with it and I won't pretend that doesn't color my opinion. I still play Divergences anyway just because I like good alt history mods and Eu4 doesn't have one that's like, Div/Kaiserreich material or even close to my knowledge.

When I play as Germany in HOI I just disband every military division and allow glorious communism to be brought to Berlin. My conscience and education will only allow me to play video games through the lens of the proletariat.

that commy Germany mod for Darkest Hour was the best. Especially since you could go Radical Socialist instead of Stalinist/Leninist, but don't tell the tankies that, they'll kick me out of the internationale

Xenophile sounds like a hoot

I wonder how differing ethics would impact a federation. I imagine the Celestial Empire of the Bugmen and Birds, Incorporated would have plenty to bitch at each other about

CCP bought White Wolf years ago when they were riding high on Iceland bubble money and proceeded to spend several years building a new 3D engine for both a new RPG. Said engine was never completed and the only result was being able to walk around in one room in Eve Online. This was so poorly made that it literally overheated and killed certain models of ATI video cards. They spent so much money and resources on it that they nearly went bankrupt and had to add a useless microtransaction store that sold monocles for $75. This combined with questionable design decisions tanked Eve subscriptions and they just recently regained all the goodwill they lost.

congratulations paradox

Sci fi nerds in this thread, what is it about Fungi that make them so common as an alien race in sci fi genres? (Maybe they're not so common and it's just confirmation bias, idk!) Is there some special property of fungus that makes it plausible for a sapient fungoid alien race to exist? What make fungi more suitable than plants for a non-Fauna alien race? Or is it just a case of 'wouldn't it be cool if'?

Like I don't mind if it is the latter, I'm just curious because it seems like a cool thing that I'm totally ignorant about!

Fungi are more like animals than they are like plants, and exhibit traits found in both.

They are cool is what I'm saying

Not to be a Vicky 2 economy apologist, but it was always the influence management minigame that really repelled me from playing it, not the hilarious market.

Yeah, thought it sounds like there will be some of that already with the fallen empire and pre-ftl civs that can dynamically advance.

Edit: I would like the zerg/tyranid trope to show up in some form as a antagonistic force to everyone. DLC could make them playable or add a smac style technology that allows you to interact with them.

It's weird but with all the uplifting and ethics I'm most excited to specialize in social tech. A far cry from eu4 and diplo points, which seems to be similar.

Will it be possible to have a shrimp themed civilization in Stellaris? I saw that you can play Molluscaloons and fungaloids so just wondering if crustaceans will get their fair shake?

Arthopods are in so I assume there will be shellfish in addition to bugs.
