It's still not great, IMHO, but they've certainly turned it around from the trash heap it was in its first year of "shoot at a cave for six hours that's my epic gun story", Strike bosses that had gigantic loving pools of HP and would melt you in two seconds so everyone abused geometry to make it even remotely fair, or changing the mechanics on Atheon (picking who to send through time was a much better idea than "random" especially when you wanted to have guns with Oracle Damage Up on certain people to deal with that.
