horn of magnus everything going smooth so you're like yea lets do two grimoires and as soon as you hit that rooftop bridge a rat ogre spawns with a ratling gunner and gutterrunner :suicide:

And then your brightwizard uses whatever staff gives them the bolts to throw instantly kills the gunner and the gutter runner right?

That's generally why my friends like me playing the wizard, specials die the moment they come into range.

I like every staff but the bolt one. I will admit that I haven't tried one since getting blue melee weapons that reduce overcharge though. So a long rear end time ago. I just prefer aoe burn everything staffs which is why im deep in love with the conflagration staff.

Any segment or level in this game that requires you to move stuff is at least 3x more difficult than any kinda scenario the rest of the game will throw at you. Especially in the case of it being the entire level they're whole strat of difficuly is spike seems to be "never let them catch their breath."

Finish a wave? Here's 3 specials and smallish horde. Did that and throw a barrell/sack down a platform? Rat ogre time plus a horde! Whew you barely got those 2 things in the boat/coach how about 4 stormvermin and a horde! I know you just dealt with that and lost your witch hunter but you're ready for 2 gasrats and a gutterrunner plus a horde right? Yeah you are!

Wipe? No thats sad how about a rat ogre during the cutscene so two of your bros start at half health love you <3

Yeah I think thats sort of the idea with it and the daggers on waywatcher. Just totally maxed mobility never stop moving and swinging. I won't really intiate with a horde unless im feeling very safe/confident, but I will wade in after a tank/s push and take heads.

Idk about that, it's just the map i like to look at the most right now. Horn is just really effecient right now but I've been playing for a handful of beta arounds before launch so I'm kinda over it. I won't complain though, I just like lighting skaven on fire in my heart.

Bright Wizard seems lacking on nightmare. She's fantastic on hard where the fireball staff can spam piercing projectiles with large hitboxes that one-shot rats, and she can really clear some space with right click spam. But then you get to nightmare and the left click no longer one-shots trash, making it kinda poo poo. You're the most ranged-focused class on a difficulty where ranged attacks deal friendly fire. The fireball itself is a fantastic way to repeatedly damage to your teammates, in particular. Higher enemy health also means that you need to spend significantly more heat to kill anything, which is a mechanic that other classes don't have to deal with.

You can switch over to the conflag or beam staves to get some enemy-only AoE going, but they have pretty pathetic damage output and the beam staff's beam is absolutely horrible.

Part of why I'm branching out to more characters right now is because BW definitely feels handicapped on these higher difficulties. I'm just assuming higher tier staves etc will come with more heat reduction stuff.

The funny thing about Wheat and Chaff is how out of skew the balance solely because of one tiny detail, which was "on a scale of 1-10, let's set Stormvermin spawns to 11". Without that nothing about the level would be unusual or difficult. Everything else is pretty standard, but the unending Stormvermin clowncar storm makes getting anything done almost impossible if your group isn't on top of their poo poo.

Yeah and what makes it so different compared to even black powder is the lack of verticality. On BP you can atleast break up the waves a bit by going up and down forcing the rats to funnel/jump etc. W&C everything is pretty much a straight dash away from you and from all angles.

He's got a... moment with saltz as well. Went roughly like

:geno: You're thinking about going to try to find your family at your farm, aren't you?
:unsmith: Aye, sir.
:geno: They're all dead, you know.
:smith: I know, sir.
:geno: Don't try to hope, focus your anger on revenge instead, soldier.
:smithicide: Aye, sir.

I love these little touches. Soldier is an emotional wreck but gets along with everyone, BW is effectively a drug addict but doesn't really need to hide it anymore, saltzpyre has to pretend like he still has things under control etc.

Along comes a Witch Hunter with pressing business and a dangerous captive who needs escort, and look, they'll be passing through Ubersreik and he could really use a veteran soldier like Kruber.

Saltzpyre is basically a decent guy, he's just seen a lot of poo poo and he's a huge stick in the mud.

A pubbie in my group last night honest to goodness got lost on the map. Like he could not find us and didn't know where to go. It was Garden of Moor right before you jump down into the little maze-garden place. We had jumped over and he could not locate us and wandered around until a horde showed up and killed him. He must not have had outlines on.

Since I'm a chill gaming bro I was willing to forgive the nooblet but my buddy got all upset and started poo poo talking him for ruining the run and then that was that.

Even if I get mad I never take it out on pubbies. Just frustrating sometimes when you take the time to even explain events before they happen and they still gently caress off to do dumb poo poo.

Has there been any lore / backstory updates on Kerillian ? She really doesn't seem as fleshed out as some of the other characters and I'd like to know a little bit about her. It's like she's built up this defensive wall and I just want it to be torn down already. Her tendency to be a prick and smack-talk the others, usually my good friends although sometimes pubs, just takes me right out of the game.

When I play the other characters its much more immersive and I feel as if I'm right there in the battle with them (imagine pacific rim?) but for her its just bleh. We know why everyone else is there and her story is just 'she saw some poo poo, a long while back in her home THE END'

I don't think it's just the play-style either since I am usually my gaming groups stabby pointy-end-of-dagger-goes-in-your-face characters.

All we know is she saw some magic thing she wasn't supposed to and now is cursed. Something to that effect.

I want to look at someone and press E, and have them stand up.

Part of why I eased up on my sienna doesn't feel as great is I'm still having amazing games. They feel great as I'm killing rats then I get to the win screen and the elf has 200 more kills than me.
