what will this look like? i am thinking of getting a certain laptop with this dumb rear end high resolution but i dont want it to drain the battery, can i just turn it down to 1080p and it will: • look fine • not kill the battery?

it's not going to help your battery, the backlight still has to drive through that denser pixel field. maybe a small impact because of reduced memory traffic when rendering but doubtful that you'll notice. maybe stop sperging and enjoy the high quality display?

actually it looks like trash. just enjoy your high res display unless you're buying a windows laptop, in which case it will rarely look nice no matter what you do

you are about to depend on windows developers to respond to a trend that's only a few years old at best L M A O

in theory, with the macbook that has the usb-c port, could you charge it using something like this? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VJSGT2A/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

if you care about cpu performance you want the mbp, not the MacBook

nothing charges the new mb, basically. certainly not anything that also serves as a usb hub/dock, except for the $80 apple accessory

my work Mac Pro and its monitors are literally almost 8 years old and they work fine, great even, given sufficient RAM and an SSD the only thing I wish about them is that I could replace the screens with 4K displays like the Dell I have at home it'd be theoretically possible but I don't think one could convince a Radeon 5770 to do 3840×2160 at 60HZ (I have two in that system)
