My mate has an 06 spec B 3.0 sedan, with the 6 speed. Gorgeous car. Only problem is it's not the wagon

Mate bought his about 5 years back for $16 with 170K on the clock, but with doccumented proof of a new engine at 90K kms. Apparently the first owner didnt believe in oil changes, second owner was a member of the Hardy family (biiig deal in South Aus) and he bought it subaru pre-owned at 60K kms. At 90K it started to burn more oil than fuel so subaru threw a new engine in it under warranty. We also found out afterwards that the previous owner had the ECU touched up and it put down a dyno'd 150KW to all 4. Which make it hilariously quick for an NA sedan full of leather.

Its on the cards. He lost his job and his beater Ford Corsair got crushed by a tree in the storms so we gotta wait for more money to show up before a new zorst goes on. Its hilariously quick for something that sounds so... pedestrian... As is wondering whether to go the Supergramps of a single turbo or whether a supercharger kit would be more better to up the insanity

Sunroof is god mode for cooling those things down on a hot day- open all windows and sunroof and drive and under a minute you'll have all the heat out. One thing to watch on the EZ30 is the belt idler and tensioner bearings. Mates liberty and his mums EZ36 outback have both poo poo out the belt idler bearing around every 100K kms. First time he didn't catch it in time and it locked up. Problem is it's mounted on a cast alloy boss which gets munted instantly when the bearing seizes and that boss is part of the alternator bracket, which is $270 from Subaru. Good news is bearings are cheap and replaceable. We drop the belt off every oil change and just give em a spin to see if they're going noisy or not.

If a mechanic who did the water pump swap didn't clamp the hose on properly, how in gods name is it your problem fixing the motor?

Bad time to mention my mates looking to sell his 6 speed 06 liberty sedan spec b? Mum n dad are currently tossing up between a EJ25 powered forester and the turbo diesel one. Both manuals.

Diesels got about 16k km more and is a 2010 vs the 2009 EJ and $300 cheaper- both are XS premiums too. Ironically my mate is selling his cos he bought a turbo diesel prado

CAT INTERCEPTOR posted:Strut update - fuuuuuuuuck HOW did a Bilstein break? Looks like a clean break at the top nut too - I have never seen that outside of a rally car. Now if I can get the insert out, I have a replacement and I can get rid of this POS on Thursday. Bilstiens adapter system is garbage... These are off my 100 series rears Bushing failed to keep the shock centered in the mounting hole and then it rubbed against the side of the chassis until it wore through. And wore the chassis hole out of round..

Seat Safety Switch posted:Having built-in lunch control is a pretty great way to anti-suck any sucky feature. Maybe Nissan should add it to the Versa. If you have the 1.8 twin cam and 6 speed manual version of the versa, you can launch that little thing pretty loving hard cos it weighs NOTHING. Missus tends to get upset when I absolutely rag on her Tiida tho.

Only in your state... Pick a state with no vehicle inspections like SA and you've gotta actively irritate a cop to get your junk defected. We took a half million km old hilux with an engine swap to motor reg for a roadworthy inspection a few weeks ago, they found 8 defects with it, but only issued a notice that repairs were required, not a full blown defect sticker.

Or you just do what I do and cut kindling with an MS361 with a 25” bar on it. Only real reason I run the long bar is so I can cut at ground level without bending my back cos my lower back HATES chainsaws atm

Yeah, they definitely could be had with a manual behind the H6. Friend has an 06 liberty B spec sedan lurking in his garage with the EZ30 and 6 speed manual behind it. It’s the same manual as the STI got just minus the tricky centre diff. Which can be swapped in if the Internet it to be believed

Arent you gonna have to pull the dash and haul out the now plugged to poo poo with chemiweld heater core too because the H6 Libertys use the constant flow heater core as a critical part of their cooling systems and cook themselves if its not working properly?
