Yet where is that woman now? Tell me, in what heave does she reside? None of them. Because no God bothered to listen or care. If that is what you think it means to be a God, then you and all your teachings are welcome to do as that poor women did. And vanish from these realms forever.

Played a one-shot of escaping paradise, or something like that. It was going, likely, as it was meant to be played at first. Hell, I almost died to a gangster with a bat. That is, until I realized my power that allows me to swap bodies with animals would allow me to swap bodies with a tiger. A quick trip to the Zoo and I was a murder machine. That and the GM rolling so poorly the city lost access to all its stats for the session lead to it becoming a slaughter.

By the end, we all finished our unfinished business and would have nuked the city before leaving if it wasn't for the fact one player's sister wasn't immortal (a conceit of the game) and, therefore, would have not survived the blast.

Actually, I can't find this game online. I thought it was a microgame by Avery Macdonald, but it isn't on her website. The game is about a bunch of teenagers who stole immortality trying to escape the man and The Man by escaping the city. Anyone know what game this was?

Is there a TG thread where you just post cool ideas for games/settings?

For example, a game set in a town with supernatural/paranormal stuff going on and you play as high school "investigators" using water guns and shaken up soda cans as weapons.

I was waiting for archives to come back, but yeah there's been a thread like that. Would probably be cool to see a new one again.

The iOS Carcassonne? It's okay. If you're like me you can't mass enough people to play boardgames IRL on the regular; iOS Carcassonne has a decent-enough interface for the multiplayer and I have enough far-flung friends who play to make it worthwhile.

Back a while ago there was a game about angels and demons walking the earth, engaging in combat and generally being dicks to each other.

The English translation was In Nomine. There was a GURPS adaptation in 1997.

The original French game was titled In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas.

There was a successful kickstarter in 2015 for another French version.

There is a free pdf of ... something. The beta? The translation isn't clear here: http://raise-dead.com/2015/11/une-aide-de-jeu-gratuite-a-telecharger/

That Secret Hitler game seems thematically appropriate.

The Liberals want to pass five Liberal policies, and they don't know which faction everyone else belongs to.

The Fascists want to either pass six Fascist policies, or pass three then elect Hitler as Chancellor. They know which faction everyone else belongs to.

Hitler doesn't know who anyone else is.

Every round, the President nominates a Chancellor, which everyone then votes on.

The Chancellor then draws 3 policy cards out of a deck of 11 Fascist and 6 Liberal policies. Two are passed to the President, then the President picks one to implement.

Implementing a Fascist policy gives the President an immediate special ability, such as peeking at the deck, choosing the next President, or assassinating the player. The Liberals have an incentive to go along with the Fascists on having policies passed, but if they do it too much, the Fascists win.

Midway through the game, the Communist players assassinate everyone and institute 1000 years of socialist darkness.

I don't see how this game is different from Resistance or Avalon. Like, it sounds exactly the same as base resistance and worse than base Avalon.

Like, this game sounds like it already exists and has been done better.*

*Yes, I know all these games are based on werewolf. I just mean that this variant on it has been done.

25 bucks really seems like too steep of a price though. Which is a shame as the game seems nice enough.

Case in point, tonight at board game night I got to play two games, Codenames and Cash & Guns 2E. In one of those games several players spent half of each game staring at their phones and in one everyone was engaged the whole way through.

(Of course then we played Skull which has player elimination but we love it anyway, so.)
