Mitch’s swing and miss joke killed me because I immediately got what he meant and thought it was fairly funny but hearing everyone else drat near crack ping over how much they didn’t get it was hysterical. Especially hearing Emma just like physically quit the podcast for a moment.

LOVE is a show where I'm down with every side character (save apatow's daughter's character) but never could give much of a poo poo about the main arc. And when they did one of those scenes where they're doing improv acoustic songs, noooope.

It is also possible he got into costco, specifically, because of the benefits plan. If he does truly get to the point where he wants to stop the entertainment business and retire early (I doubt it?), then health insurance is one of the biggest hurdles, even to those who stash money away. Costco and Starbucks are popular options one can find on early retirement boards to get healthcare while working part time. Yusong and Emma own, and I am glad that they can talk enough poo poo about Nick and Mitch that it doesn’t feel terrible when Nick or Mitch talk about firings or making work for Emma the way it definitely does on some other podcasts.

I have only had Blaze in the way they recommend it, which is as a work lunch. It was fine, but it’s in a strip with a wild wings, two competing mall-tier stir fry places, BK, Taco Bell, a healthier salad/wrap spot, BBQ, Arby’s, Einsteins (boo), Chipotle, two other burger spots, a (bad) pizza by the slice vendor, Boston Market, and like two other places I’m forgetting. So you’ve gotta be really burnt out on the rest before Blaze is the top pick.

It reminds me of younger me seeing people watching Fox News and the audience not noticing that 90% of the ads were boner pills, gold, and survival food. And that funny DVD set about how to make a teen respect you.

Hot take: the sauce is “fine” and something with more heat is better. On the scale of “agreeable, low spice children’s menu, fast and hot” they nail it. But it’s pretty drat boring compared to a bunch of similarly priced competitors.

There are chain seafood takeout / fast food places along the gulf coast that are good. Popeyes has a fish and shrimp side of the menu, but it’s the wrong choice compared to their chicken.
