What's the difference between a forum and a debate?

point of return posted:What's the difference between a forum and a debate? Q: Tell me about Friday’s format. A: It’s not a debate. Both the Republican and Democratic parties made decisions this year that they would pick a specific number of debates and require that the candidates would only participate in those. … And that means I am not allowed to put these candidates on the stage at the same time. I have to talk to them sequentially, one on one.

Rachel Maddow might have sympathies for Sanders but is too smart to even threaten pissing off a Clinton in any capacity *hits the snooze button*

I'm still wondering why this is happening at Winthrop. I mean, it's a pretty good school and Rock Hill's a nice little town, and I enjoy being here, but I just don't understand why they would chose to have it happen here and not somewhere in Columbia or Charleston.
