So the polls are probably wrong and Louisiana will elect Diaper Dave, right? I can't say I'm optimistic about polling accuracy in any southern state at this point.

There has been much more polling in Louisiana and they will probably elect Edwards, but no one is certain. Early voting seemed to favor Edwards (more blacks/dems voting than in the earlier primary) but the state of Louisiana is deeply, fundamentally, even pathologically conservative, so who knows?

It's important for the dems to build up state level organizations with governors regardless of their policy positions, and see if we can't get some better-aligned senators, where their particular non-mainstream views will translate into poor federal policy in close senate votes.
