It is really embarrassing (the Bernie campaign spokesperson is now calling any idea that they wanted to avoid foreign policy "nonsense") and should be noted, but I think it's reasonable to wonder whether or not it would get a lot of attention or be dismissed by the news-watching public as irrelevant he-said she-said.

It comes down to whether or not Dems will buy it (Republicans are always on board for some trash talking). And that will likely come down to what's said at the debate.

Is there a diplomatic reason that the Obama administration does not want to use "Radical Islam" and instead "Jihadist Islam"?

My guess is that it's a language issue that's been carefully selected by someone who knows more about Islam than I. "Radicalism" sound a lot like "Islam is radical" and allows anyone to point to part of Islam and declare it radical, "jihadist Islam" applies to only self-described jihadist groups.

Real talk why doesn't Hillary talk about her support of single payer healthcare coverage in the 90s? Like it was unpopular then but now a lot more people are in support and it'd take wind out of Bernie's sails

Hillary is already aiming for the general and clearly doesn't want to have to market universal single payer (although she really should but I'm not focus groups and policy advisors).

I also have to admit as someone who is fervent for Bernie that he needs to start being substantive or he's toast, he can't keep stump speeching

Yeah Hillary's $12/hour answer isn't what I want at all, but she came off as someone who gave a direct answer and was tamping down the crazy idealism.

Yeah, Hillary is actually on the defensive here, she's retreated to "I agree with you both" positions. Smart move on her part, but it's not the kind of attitude she was able to take in the first debate.

So was this debate worth watching? I got the impression from the first one that Bernie treated it more like a stump speech than a debate, but it seemed like neither he nor Clinton were a clear winner to me. I've just gotten burned out on the election cycle and probably need to purge for a month before I care again.

I enjoyed it as a rational discussion of policy, but you aren't missing anything if you skip it and purge for a month. It's not even 2016 yet, save your strength.
