Voted for William Henry Harrison. I figure he deserves a shot at a full term.

Actually I think Benjamin Franklin Butler looks pretty good. His VP is a poo poo, but really who cares about the VP as long as the President doesn't die in office.

EDIT: Well, less good now that I bothered to read his biography. Still, the past is the past, and I like his platform in the present time of 1884.

As a long-time Greenback voter I'm worried by the Republicans' stance on the gold standard, but I'm leaning towards Harrison anyway.

e: Gotta say, I don't care for Levi Morton though. I guess around now is when the Republicans are shifting from progressive stances to FYGM capitalism?

As the extra-temporal beings whose only influence on this timeline is selecting presidents, why should we support a candidate who would eliminate the office of president?

Four more years of Harrison, I say!

I still oppose any candidate who wants to eliminate the office of president.

Put me down as a Bryan/Watson supporter. As a former Greenback voter I'm not happy about Watson's opposition to paper currency, but otherwise I like his populist stances and that gives him the edge over Sewall.

Does William Jennings Bryan have anything going for him other than bimetallism? If not, I don't really see the point. Bringing in silver would be a one time massive infusion to the monetary supply, and then it'd continue to have all the same issues as the gold standard from that point onward, a cross of gold and silver. Are they making bimetallism out to be some kind of magical panacea?

Yeah, I miss the Greenback Party too.
