I believe Henry Clay is a trustworthy chap, but more importantly, I hope the attempted assassination on Jackson that historically happened in 1835 (and failed under hilariously improbable circumstances) actually happens to him and succeeds, so we can get Sergeant in office, who is clearly the best.

Yeah, especially back then it wasn't uncommon for minor parties to support major party tickets for elected office. For instance, in this 19th century election for Governor of New York, you can see that a bunch of minor parties including the Anti-Nebraska Party and the Anti-Rent Party listed Whig candidates on their ticket.

QuoProQuid posted:1876 through 1892 will be really interesting for me. It's the longest string of elections where I am not sure who will win. I think it's pretty clear what direction SA's going to go in 1876. Hayes was a shitbag who ended Reconstruction and turned a blind eye to the South's suppression of African-American political rights in return for being handed the presidency, and the Democrats were involved in widespread voter intimidation against African-Americans, but Peter Cooper of the Greenback party was in favor of fiat currency, breaking up monopolies, labor rights, and Native American rights. Plus he had a glorious beard.

I did 2016 as Clinton/Brown and got 318 electoral votes. Everything seemed to fall my way and I ended up winning in a landslide with 55% of the popular vote and all the swing states. Interestingly enough, I was within 300 votes of winning Utah even.

poo poo, I just played as Wilson in 1916 and lost the election despite winning the popular vote. I only lost by 132 votes in Washington, and that would have been enough to swing the election in my favor.

I know that later on, a lot of pro-prohibition rhetoric would be couched in anti-Catholic terms, with lots of bashing of Irish-Americans for being drunkards. I don't know if that particular line of rhetoric has developed at this point in history, though.
