if you're opening packs for anything but booster draft, you're doing it wrong. If your store lets you take credit for prize instead of packs, do that.

A semi LGS is doing a triple INN draft soon for a $30 price tag. The catch is that it's rare redrafting. As much as I love the draft format to death, that seems like a steep price to pay for a rare redraft. Opinions?

I'm in the camp of rare redrafting is fine if you know all the people involved, but it sucks with random people. While I am reasonably confident in my INN drafting ability, I am not about to pay $30 just for the experience and high probability of walking away with nothing but bulk. I am kinda tempted to do the thing a few of you mentioned and rare draft then walk out with all the cards, never to return, but it's probably not even worth it from a value perspective. I'll stay away from this particular event. Thanks, goons!

The store in question is being very up front about the fact that it's rare redrafting and even goes on to explain what that entails. I was just balking at the $30 price tag when that more than covers the retail cost of the Innistrad packs. No additional prize support is mentioned.

I actually agree with mcmagic and Sickening in that it's dumb of these people to ask for a free ticket to Grand Prix events. It's kind of begging for ridicule. There is a big gap between making fun of these people and shaming the poor, however. That is not cool.

They regularly ship 15-20 orders a day from tcg player on top of the in store pick up orders from locals, so they're doing something right.
