can someone explain to me why things randomly start flashing in the task bar with no user input or apparent state change in the application?

hotcorners are terrible taskbar lets you switch between windows easier (assuming you're a child and have less than 10 windows open) dock badges are great at notifying application state

taskbar at top, placement reflects hierarchy: taskbar > title bar > tab bar screen feels less boxed in, controls at top, rest is waterfall of pure content more shamefully i also have the buttons set to never combine but with labels hidden by registry edit because it looks neater than one useless letter and an ellipsis when you got two dozen windows open
|
# ? Nov 20, 2015 13:16 |

a taller taskbar makes things nice and legible again so i can easily pull up emails I opened on tuesday and forgot about

the dock like most of osx is insanely bad.
|
# ? Nov 20, 2015 13:48 |

I can understand how the dock is meant to appeal since i guess the majority of users only install/regularly use a handful of programs, but even though i largely fall into this category with my home pc it feels like it cheapens the experience of owning a general purpose computer rather than some kind of home appliance
