San Diego is extending the blue line to service UTC/UCSD as well. pretty cool if you go that way (it's a nightmare for pedestrians/transit atm)

I don't think san diego has any public funiculars. there's some guy with a funicular that goes from his mansion down to black's beach though. (it's a nude beach)
