Firing clients is hard, but having them come to your home to work with them is worse. I would recommend short and sweet, but of course your wife might be attached to the kid so she could always decide to instate new rules where parents may only drop off or pick up students but may not stay and are only allowed to attend recitals to prevent the students from being distracted and insure parents get their money's worth. But really, she should just send the letter.
