So to anybody on the fence about the Xbox version, don't be! This game is a total blast other than the spotty hit detection and horrors of playing with pubs.

I also love how they categorize every kind of victory and defeat imaginable. I especially love if you lose during overtime as you get a "Heartbreaking Defeat" :3:

I think the servers are currently having a bit of a fit? People dropping from games left and right and i'm having trouble staying connected at all. Wasen't this way last night so maybe they are doing something to them?

I've not run into latency at all personally in terms of rubberbanding or people teleporting everywhere. But there definitly can be some when it comes to shooting people. You'll very clearly get a hit and the game won't give it to you.


Edit: On another topic i'm also glad that there isn't really one specialist or weapon that is overpowered. Like was talked about before there are some more useful in general than others but nobody is really flat outuseless.

It was mentioned before but it's worth reiterating that Headshots are an instant kill in this game. Which is how you end up seeing 80+ damage in one shot in kill cams. Of course i managed to figure this out making an awesome upside down shot through a window against a guy camping :getin:

Also worth mentioning that you shouldn't use Fuze's Cluster Launcher thing in Hostage mode, they can in fact kill the hostage, as i found out by using his cluster launcher in the wrong spot and had one of the grenades hit a wall and bounce back right into the hostage's face :blush:

Also a quick note that it's good to FINALLY see a game where using the riot shield is actually a viable option! Every once in a blue moon i'll be killed by somebody just shooting at my feet but then i just curse i didn't/coulden't use the full body shield Montague has.

Oh man they used to be better? I never did get into the beta and i'll admit i'm used to shields the way they were in the past couple of Call of Duty games which is not really at all and pretty much just good for a laugh.

If you're playing on PC i can't help you. But i've found on on Xbone that if your controller runs out of power and you switch, you have to reassign the controller to yourself manually through the options menu instead of the game doing it for you like some of them do.

Personally i find this game stressful enough without it actively ranking my performance as well. Plus there's that whole issue where i'm the only person on my friends list that owns this to begin with so...

Huh, all the questions i had come here to ask just now got answered either in the reddit link or in the thread, how about that :v:

Mute's jammers also block Thermite's charges from going off as well if it's close enough to the wall i guess? He's ending being way better than i first imagined.

Most of the time if there is an easy breaching point in the ceiling of the objective i'll go upstairs and cover it myself, very rarely i'll just fortify it and go on my way (i usually end up getting more kills leaving it open though) and most teams never expect to get hit from behind while they are trying to breach the room.

Also no you can't hear people that are crouch walking, i'm not sure you can hear them while they are walking around while ADS either but i'm not quite sure.

I've noticed it be more of a common occurrence when somebody actually manages to grab the hostage and tries to get out since depending on the angle you can get hit the hostage through the enemy and knock him out instead of killing him instantly.

But considering how rare it is to see a win by hostage extraction it doesn't come up to often.

I've always had more success with electrified walls, it's rare to actually get a kill from them but it's always good if they aren't paying attention and try to put down a charge anyway they will take quite a bit of damage from the shocks before the animation completes and lets them pull away. Overall though i would say Bandit is kind of a meh defender, maybe if his gun was better it'd be a different story.

The only mistake i saw was you taking regular breaching charges as Thermite :v:. Frags are so helpful and nobody is going to be expecting them in Hostage mode especially.

You'd be suprised how many people you can kill just randomly shooting up/down through floors, people are always waiting on the breach from above but they are never expecting to get shot from anywhere but there. If only consoles had text chat in game i REALLY want to hear the rage and accusations of cheating.

I don't quite see the point of a suppressor when, while they don't give the enemy the bullet direction indicators, if they are looking at you then your name still pops up in red. The decrease in damage is usually a pretty big killer for myself.

Kapkan's traps remind me of Bandits shock traps. While they dont nessecerialy get you kills a majority of the time. It does deter the enemy from whererver you put them down. I have more success with Bandit in that way though since the wall flickers with power on and off and if the enemy just happens to walk by the wall while its off then :getin:

My guess being that the damage numbers of the guns being shown in game are before any kind of reduction from armor/locational multipliers. Even if it'd make the menu screen more crowded i' would like to see average damage numbers based on armor level or something like that instead of the "yeah this gun does 50 damage so you're gonna 2 shot people no problem sir"

It's like Mute's jammers where one battery will only cover one bit of the wall unless you specifically put it down where one part of one fortification begins and where the other ends. That said i'm not sure if you're able to just step the side and put a breaching charge down on the edge of a wall instead of the middle like you can with jammers if they are placed incorrectly.

I don't know about that,2 is the max that i'm comfortable with/seeing since in the event they charge right into the objective and obliterate the defenders it's gonna be hard for 2/3 people to come back against 5.

I still feel like the wirelessly controlled MG thing sombody brought up a a while back would probably work best. You still have to deal with it being finicky and hard to place down but once you have it in place it could still tear poo poo up with no risk to Tachanka. Thatcher's EMP could counter and everything would be right with the world.

Are these shots to kill all tested in game so their menu information is just hosed?

It's not so much hosed as Ubisoft probably didn't feel/coulden't figure out a way to accurately display how much damage you'd on on average to each tier of armor, not to mention rook plates and locational damage on top of that. So i guess they decided that putting the base damage for each gun was a good compromise.

Hell i wouldn't call that hacking either, about about 32 seconds you can hear somebody retracting their zipline and planting their feet, i would more call it pretty lucky that he caught the guy as he was about to breach the window.
