In other news, something I wasn't expecting -- a notable resignation from the fallout of the Laquan McDonald shooting:quote:Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Tuesday that he had formally asked for the resignation of Superintendent Garry McCarthy, who Emanuel hand-picked as the city's top cop in 2011. Wasn't actually expecting any resignations, but at the same time this seems like the usual routine of picking someone to publicly take the heat.

Yes, yes, it's Fox News, but reports are cops have the names of the two killed, but are holding off until they are absolutely sure they can confirm the identities match the bodies. I'm also hearing conflicting information that the name mentioned earlier (Farooq Saeed) was 'brushed off' during the investigation, but that only meant that name didn't turn up in any databases, but at the same time that name was traced back to the apartment that one of the suspects was believed to be hiding in? This last set of information is a jumbled mess.

Phone posting so I can't post it, but Dyed's father gave an interview with a Italian paper La Stampa which was translated by the Times of Israel. In it the father admitted he knew his son followed and supported ISIS' leader ideology and became 'obsessive' about Israel. He also said that he tried to calm his son down by telling him that he shouldn't worry about Israel because the world powers would not want the Jews there anymore and move them. I found the the article which the text confirms so it's more than laughing it off as slander by the Times of Israel. Under this context it's harder to feel sympathy for this family with their repeated pleas of ignorance. Also his father sounds like a class act. Now it makes more sense as to why they picked their sandy hook truther lawyer.
