Serpentis posted:Ow. You think that's the AI actually being competent, noticing the invasion force and trying to knock out your nearby airbases before the main force arrives? They finally let Curtis LeMay transfer in theater.

Imaginary Baron posted:I was waiting around for the Soviets to activate. They could at least make things interesting. Ditto. Also I'd like to see what happens with the India invasion. I think a good balance would be to do as suggested earlier and maybe move from "day by day" to something like "week by week" so you can focus on the exciting bits.

So long as you follow thru on a non-video RTW2 AAR I'm a happy camper.

habeasdorkus posted:Yeah, that's what I'm really looking forward to. I'm going to be buying the game just to create a design bureau that focuses on the lessons from this war... battleships rule and carriers drool. I don't think it would actually work but a RTW2 set in this world's post war era could have some interesting moments.

koolkevz666 posted:Would bombardment attacks do anything against those troops on the island? You seem to have many more guns than they do, There's a good idea to test...massed guns of the IJN vs. the Allies on Truk. It's not like the naval war is being seriously contested now...you could move the BBs and CAs up to turn Truk into powder.

Bold Robot posted:Moresby is a great place to turn into a big airbase, I did the same thing in my game. It can be upgraded to size 9 (or at least size 8). It has coverage over a lot of the Solomons and New Guinea, including Rabaul. It is relatively easy to supply and defend as the Allies. It’s just about as good a place to base heavy bombers as any in the South Pacific. I see. I guess I was thinking Liberator = bomb heavy industry/cities but I see your point.

Looks like you're building up a force of A6M7 Zeros at Rabaul...

Grey, any chance of you getting a squadron or two of modern fighters back to the Home Islands? I'd like to see the carnage you could inflict on those crates the Soviets are flying.
