Paladinus posted:I've spent five minutes trying to decipher what the landmarks are supposed to spell. First I looked at the silhouettes, then at the negative space, but to no avail. Then I thought that maybe they are supposed to be a graph of Boris's approval rating, but it's not that either, clearly. Yeah I think it's just landmarks. The question is; is the implication he'll get stuck on the zip wire and unable to enter No. 10?

Party Boat posted:You need to provide a £500 deposit to get on the ballot here, which is refunded if you get at least 5% of the votes. The argument is that if you can't raise this modest amount from your supporters, you're not going to get enough votes to be anywhere near competitive. This only applies for MPs, not local councillors. I kind of like it when the fash lose their deposits though.

Buzz Lightyear was deluded and believed he was a real space ranger instead of a toy. A good cartoon.

Apparently Mac is an 80 year old man from Edinburgh. I have to say I assumed he was a 52 year old man from Kent.

I'm glad Adams put the blue and red rosettes on May and Corbyn otherwise I'd have had no idea who they were.

I'll never understand how the people who deify Churchill explain to themselves how he lost the 1945 election.

I'm pretty sure that the right wing press and certain Tory politicians piled in so hard on this because they really assumed that Corbyn would actually be exposed as a soviet spy; that they really have swallowed so much of their own bullshit they can't distinguish it from reality.

I can't help but think that most disabled people would wave their disability away with a magic wand if they could. Especially something as severe and lovely as Hawking had.

Clearly the real winners are the Lib Dems who reclaimed less than a quarter of the seats they lost in 2014. Not Labour who managed to increase their vote compared to the 2014 result where Ed Miliband was widely considered to be on the way to number 10. The Conservatives also deserve strong congratulations for holding on to the losses they made in 2014.
