Kellhus' manipulation is presented as "good", in the sense that it is an effective and powerful tool. By using it Kellhus is successful in his endeavours. Kellhus' manipulation is not presented as "good", in the sense that is is not morally or ethically sound. By using it Kellhus brings suffering and misery to those around him. If you're just not interested in a moral universe where people can be assholes and successful then fair enough.
