I forget to mention it at the time, but I was all about that scene a week or so ago where Flint was like "Oh poo poo. Rogers is doing exactly what Thomas and I wanted to do. Should I stop him? Yes."

Also, I actively cheered when Vane saved Flint this week.

Teach is kind of a dick, so my stomach was turning when Flint was losing that sword fight. I also sort of wondered how Teach did so well considering he had just been grazed by a pistol ball, unless it didn't really hurt him all that much and he just meant to act like it did to make Flint think he had an advantage.

Vane continues to be the biggest badass on the show

I'd like to imagine being a captain of a pirate ship for as long as he was gave him enough stress to look pretty loving old for his age. So just imagine him as an old looking mid 30's.

I'd say getting Ray Stevenson was the right move, as he's older, but still looks young enough to be Blackbeard, if that makes sense.

My wife said, not me but I agree, she should of kept the stockings on.

IDK why she took them off, stockings are hot and so is Eleanor

e: Meanwhile, Max is being useless as poo poo. Is anyone else tired of her as a character? Maybe the writers intended this, but she is far too ambitious and thinks she's far more smart and important than she really is, and as a result is more annoying than anything, especially with her lines.

Island Princess is going to be Silver's wife. And I'm kinda hoping that Max dies in the next episode because she is boring and now is unimportant as well.

Max has never been important and is annoying as a character because she way over-inflates her importance and power on Nassau. Also her French accent is hard to listen to. Every time she's in a scene I cringe because I'll have to hear her next long monologue talking about unimportant poo poo like how she thinks she has power over someone or something she really doesn't.

Hi Goons I just came here to echo the sentiments of those who are at least okay with Eleanor sticking around as long as she does more stocking scenes. And maybe a little bit more of the boobs, they are very stingy with her boobs for some reason. But that rear end...

If you want to see T&A so badly, there is this little thing called porn that you might want to look into. It would probably be a better use of your time than making creepy forum posts.

That's cute, you acting like this isn't SA and that I'm the only one who has mentioned anything similar.

IOW, get the gently caress over yourself

Back to the regularly scheduled programming and serious posting: this show is ripe for prequel spinoffs like Starz did with Spartacus, so before the show's run ends or even after, it'd be awesome to see a short 5-6 episode prequel series about one of the more awesome characters, like Vane or Flint. I didn't really care for John Silver until this season when he started becoming LJS and I'm not sure how interesting his story pre-Nassau would be. I think Starz only did the short six-episode spinoff for Spartacus because the actor who played Spartacus had succumbed to cancer, but they could do worse than a short series focusing on a cool supporting character in the show.

Pretty sure MacGowan would be considered attractive to the opposite sex whether or not he worked out, just as I'm sure he worked out as much as he did because writers/producers/directors wanted him to be that buff for the role, not to fit some masculine ideal to be more attractive to women

I'd imagine it's easier to get Billy Bones arms when your job affords you the time to do it, and probably provides the best HGH money can buy.

Or when your job as an actor is requiring you to do it in order to fit your role, because you want to keep your job

TWD is not nearly as good as this show, not by a long shot, but it's still way better than many network TV shows out there like Quantico (oh great, adults doing teeny relationship drama except going to the FBI academy while doing it) or The Vampire Diaries (even my wife stopped watching this show recently citing her reason as being that the show has gone over the top with stupid). I mean, lots of people like those shows I guess and I can't knock them for liking what they like, even if I give my wife poo poo for watching the Vampire Diaries, but there are way better shows out there to watch. The problem is, lots of people don't have premium channels and that's why they watch shows a lot of us might consider dumb, which gives them better ratings.

Aw gently caress this kind of sucks but since it's on their own terms I'm not that bummed.

I'm a little weirded out that this is going to lead directly into Treasure Island though, wasn't this set like 40 years before the books? Going to be some time fuckery methinks.

Pretty sure it's twenty years

That still doesn't make much sense. :v:

How much time has actually passed since the show started? I feel like it's only been a year or two from what I've gleaned through the discussions characters have had.

A difference of twenty years is pretty significant too--it's the difference between Silver being middle-aged and an old man.
