My favorite John Le Carre book is A Perfect Spy but I'm not gonna recommend someone a 600 page book when the genre itself is hard to get into

a kitten posted:I read that and also the later 3 Smiley books. They're really really good. I think A Perfect Spy is the best single book that Le Carre has written but the Karla Trilogy is his masterpiece. I didn't really get hooked into The Honorable Schoolboy until halfway through the book but I think it's my favorite out of those three. TTSS is a great movie but I feel like I would have had a way harder time following it if I hadn't read the book beforehand.
