I've slept no more than 4 hours/night for the past week.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to die.

After 10 days of negotiations over my job and realizing that my boss wants a 60 hour employee for the pay of a 32, I quit. The job was a dead end for my career anyways and offered me nothing better than a mediocre nonprofit paycheck - no way to grow, learn, etc.

It feels ~!!~*~GREAT~*~!!~

Nothing else lined up but I have some rainy day savings, so I'm not worried. Probably for the best that I didn't buy the Lotus.

Thanks, I'm pretty stoked.

I'm not officially quit until the end of March - I'm doing some consulting work in the same town as my office until that time, and it seems stupid to travel for one income when I can do the same for two. This will also give me some time to package things up for the next guy - I have an old buddy in mind for the job who's down on his luck and needs a break into IT work, so I'm going to try and package this up for him. Having been denied a lot of shots in life, I value giving them to people in need.

On our way home from the first ultrasound we drove behind a red Esprit I had been lusting after on Craigslist: http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/5426780214.html

It was weird having that put in my face right after I've quit my job, and while I'm still learning to be enthusiastic about family over fun. I think I'm OK with it, though - I want someone to take care of me when I poo poo the bed, not a thing that I have to take care of when it shits the bed.

Plus it's an SE and I'd rather own an S4S.

I could see myself doing that. Not bad.

Why not train as a plumber or electrician, or another trade that makes bank? You'd have to be sober on the job but the pay is great and job security is also up there.

Isn't Deadpool supposed to be an underdog superhero?

Ryan Reynolds gets to go home every night and gently caress Blake Lively; how is that underdog?

100km on the bike today. Had a big breakfast, a big lunch at the midpoint, and half a pizza for dinner.
Still 1500 calories below goal. Its a good day.

Well done; I can't remember the last time I rode that far. I'm going to try and do it before the end of March, weather permitting.

What the heck do all you cyclists do for cramps? I drink a ton of water (gal/day easy) and even with the usual remedies I still cramp like a son of a bitch. Bananas were my go to, veggies didn't help... Even tried mustard, which is apparently high in magnesium and is supposed to help.

I don't know if it's the combination of being sick for a month plus the strong antibiotics or what, but I'm getting way more leg cramps than usual.

Pizza chat - For anyone in the Phoenix area, if you haven't tried Fired Pie, you should. They only make single person sized (11") thin crust pizza's, but it's a flat price of $7.95 and you tell them how to make it. You can choose the type of sauce, and how much, what type of cheese, and how much. Same with all the toppings, and they have a bunch to choose from. They'll build it any way you want with as many toppings as you want and it costs exactly the same, and it's really loving good.

They also do salads the same way, but who the hell goes to a pizza place and gets a salad?

This is a national trend, every metro area has a restaurant or local chain like this.

There's a lot of strong opinions about pizza in this thread - I'd recommend this book to most of the people with those opinions http://www.amazon.com/American-Pie-Search-Perfect-Pizza/dp/1580084222/ref=sr_1_23?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1455776677&sr=1-23&keywords=pizza

How do I correct their pronunciation of Negro Modelo?

The e in negro is pronounced as an "eh" sound. "Neighgrow" Modelo. I'm still trying to break my mother of saying "chipoltee" and this is a woman who lived in texas for 20+ years. :v:

EDIT: And by also correcting it every loving time you hear it. Sooner or later, they'll get tired of you correcting them!

I know how to pronounce it, I just don't know how to bring it up to them that they're doing it wrong

I nearly missed a flight because an entire dual carriageway was shut down for 30 mins because the police thought they saw someone near it. 6 cars and a helicopter.

There wasn't anyone there.

It might help if you took something faster than a carriage, like a car.

February has been quite the month for AI.

Since we've spanned boss v. leader chat (without labeling it as such), work, and spirituality (well, kind of) I thought I'd share this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdzHgN7_Hs8

I think it's interesting at least, but I also listen to economics podcasts.

I love that Pink talk.

I called GooberPeas about the Lotus I was looking at buying a few weeks back and we started talking about other stuff. He ended up recommending this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Essentialism-...ds=essentialism

Which was perfect for where I was - working 3 jobs for other people as well as a few 'jobs' (projects/whatever) for myself.

It was perfect timing. If anyone's feeling overextended, I'd recommend they pick it up.

I have a lot of problems I'm trying to figure out and I can sympathize with a lot of the other people on the forum who are not running on all cylinders (or rotors or whatever gets you off), but I'm surprised to see so many unhappy AIers trying the same poo poo over and over again expecting different results. Break whatever cycle is causing you misery. If you have insurance through work, chase down some counseling - it is worth its weight in gold once you find the right person, whether its a psychologist, addiction specialist, life coach, whatever. If you don't have insurance through work, check out free counseling resources in your area (most places have them), or try eliminating one bad habit a day - take a day off the internet, weed, booze, whatever. Drive a different route from home. Spend an hour out on a walk. Just do something loving different. Chances are, you are the only thing holding yourself back.

Life is incredibly short. You can change how flexible you are, you can change your comfort zone, your tolerance for pain, withdrawal, poverty, income, personal growth, love life, whatever. You can change everything but how many hours you get in your drat life. I've wasted a lot of time trying to make my habits fit into my life, when I really should've looked long term at what life I wanted and chosen the habits I needed to support it. Don't make the same mistake I did.
