Realize that I have only read about the debate and not actually seen it. So Rubio collapsing, but there definitely seemed to be a narrative of Trump being stumped. That said the atlantic's debate coverage has been universally terrible this year! V  V

It was both Trump's best individual debate performance, and the best debate outcome for Trump. It was Rubio's worst debate, OBVIOUSLY, but also very quietly Cruz's worst as well, with Carson exposing him as slime. But everyone forgot because Christie pulled Rubio's pants down on TV.

The audience booed and Trump called them out for being GOP donors and lobbyists. By the end of the debate they were cheering him again. Media outlets with an axe to grind with Trump (like Fox) are spinning that as armageddon, but it's actually likely going to play pretty well. Everything else from Trump ranged from unremarkable to positive. The implosion of Rubio is a big plus for him and Cruz had a few bad moments without anything notably positive out of the night.
