And about how the ad made Ted Cruz look like a knife murderer?

How can you post about that without a video link?

Well, if it took the US Marshalls a couple years to find the guy, it is entirely possible the summons to court never reached him if they were all going to a previous residence and the whole serving process was botched(which happens).

If he's being held in contempt he received proper process. They aren't going to send marshalls out looking for someone they haven't already found. Yes, he may have ducked them for a few years, but he was certainly not caught off guard by any of it and I'm pretty sure the court has all of the service paperwork handy.

$100/month on dry cleaning nice suits if you wear one daily for work isn't crazy. A 2 or 3 piece suit is gonna cost 10-15 most places to get cleaned. You can't realistically wear the same suit 200+ days a year. Even if you only had 3 suits that you wore all year, they're still going to need to be cleaned at least 3 times at that level of wear. That's not even bringing shirts into the equation.

There are a lot of things to get nitpicky about in that budget. Spending $100 a month on dry cleaning isn't really one of them.

Properly implemented 256-bit AES is not going to be cracked by conventional computers before the Sun goes nova. A quantum computer can basically cheat and do it much faster but nobody has one of those yet or if the NSA does they're ahead of public scientific knowledge on the subject and they're not telling.

However IIRC the FBI just wants help with the phone's unlock screen, which has way fewer possible combinations. They're afraid the phone has a setting turned on that will erase the hard drive's contents if there's too many failed attempts and they want Apple to disable that. Of course Tim Cook is still completely in the right to tell them to gently caress off. Of course there's no guarantee that if the phone's unlocked the HD won't be AES encrypted anyway.

Any tool they gave the FBI to work just this once can be reverse-engineered to work all the time. That's unacceptable because the privacy of my cell phone unlock screen is more important than your dead kids.

Its not even about wiping the phone. Even if the 10 passcode wipe is not enabled, after each failed passcode there is a delay timer before you can put in another. You don't see it until you get 3 or 4 attempts deep but very quickly it locks you out of the phone for progressively longer with each failure. I've seen my step sister's phone get locked out for an hour because she couldn't remember the PIN she just made. The FBI specifically wants to bypass this delay with a custom firmware plus the ability to input PINs remotely so they can brute force the code by hooking it up to a computer.

If I'm not mistaken FDR increased the number of Supreme Court justices so that could guarantee a majority in his favor so that his programs wouldn't be ruled against? That about right?

FDR had a majority in congress and threatened the court to find his new deal laws constitutional or else he would stack the court with justices until he received the desired result. It was threatened but never put into place because even the SCOTUS didn't want to gently caress with emperor FDR.

He probably could have became a president for life if he hadn't died.

The government is asking Apple to take advantage of a known vulnerability in the "security" design of that phone. It's such a known vulnerability that it's been fixed in later models of iPhones, in fact. Truth be told, they could probably get the NSA to use their existing exploits against it, but I doubt that'd be kosher if they wanted to use any evidence in court.

I get that uneducated consumers just assume that if they say it's secure it's secure. But the reality is that it isn't.

Actually they could use any method they want and it would be just fine in court because no ones rights are being violated and the owner of the phone consents.

You have to show that the contents of the phone were unmodified and have a proper chain of custody.

There's already been a problem with the phone when the San Bernardino people changed the passcode. Using a different method to get the contents isn't really that big of a deal. They're specifically doing this because they finally have a good test case to use as precedent to force future manufacturers to take similar action. This isn't something that needs to be done for a current case as the guilty party here is dead. There is no pressing issue or matter or problems with an evidentiary chain because the phone isn't part of any criminal case.

Similar to the Bernie supporters not supporting Hillary I wonder if Trump supporters will line up behind Rubio. As people have stated many Trump supporters are believers in the White dominance of power and after 8 years of Obama are they going to support a minority even if he comes with a R next to his name?

Why would trump supporters line up behind anyone else? He's got the nomination virtually locked up. The trend of him having more votes than the rest of the field combined is going to continue.

The question is will Cruz/Rubio supporters line up behind trump? And the answer is yes that more will line up behind him than the other guy.

This is from a page ago or so, but the 149 in nevada wasn't the total number of Latino voters but rather the size of the sample used for the poll. There were a lot more than that. The 149 was the random sample exit poll.

The people who will refuse to vote or defect are in the minority.
