I remember a big furor a few years ago when animators were up in arms because it's really hard to make a long enough animation to qualify for full ad coverage, which meant that suddenly they were getting almost no money. I think it hobbled the animation scene on Youtube.

So I just came from doing a walk-through of an apartment building. At the top of the stairwell I noticed there was no roof access hatch so i asked the super if she knew if there was a roof hatch anywhere or if you just had to get up there externally. She said she remembered someone telling her about how the roof access was in the basement. What??

So we went into the basement, opened a random storage locker. Inside this storage locker were some typical building upkeep supplies including a step ladder. This step ladder wasn't being stored, it was secretly part of the roof access. Looking up I saw a 3 story pipe chase lined with some 1x3's someone had nailed between the studs to form a ladder. So to get to the roof of this building you needed to climb up an old step ladder using the correct safe system of putting all your weight on the top "step", sort of jump and pull your self up into a small hole in the ceiling, then climb 3 stories up in pitch black on a poorly made unfinished lumber ladder, then, while still on this ladder in the dark, pop open a hatch and slither out.
