BigBoss posted:The law is not a popularity contest. It was not put in place to reinforce your self-esteem. The only people who had a problem with Scalia were individuals who do not understand this. They felt that his refusal to bend the law to suit their fleeting and degenerate whims was somehow wrong. This is not true. Justice Scalia was a thoughtful person whose legal work was based on sound thinking. He based his decisions on constitutionality, nothing more. He did not allow anything to taint his legal decisions. I know that's a bitter pill to swallow when your entire life has been a participation trophy ceremony, but Antonin Scalia was a true patriot whose honorable service to the United States Supreme Court will not be forgotten. It really bothers me that people would dare celebrate his death. It is disgusting. im glad hes dead and im even gladder it makes your retarded rear end mad

A GLISTENING HODOR posted:Also, Scalia is directly responsible for thousands if not tens of thousands of deaths. I'm not just "disagreeing with him". He was a sadistic loving monster who deserved to die a long time ago. actually hes more or less directly responsible for the iraq war so its more like hundreds of thousands

Fast Luck posted:if you think about it.this Republican refusal to confirm or even meet with anyone Obama might appoint to the supreme Court is pretty hosed up. When trump gets president if I were a Democrat i would be like No gently caress you i'm not confirming your appointee either right? and each party can just refuse rto confirm the other party's appointee because they dont want the cour tgoing in the other party's favor. We'll be at 8 justices for awhile as both parties continue to filibuster but Kennedy Ginsburg and Breyer are like 80ish so soon we will be down to a 5 person supreme court,. Then the remaining justices will probably hang in for another decade or so before they start falling off again...
