I had come to accept that his pact with Satan would mean he would at very least outlive RBG but there may in fact be a just and living God.

Every one's first thought is "good" but this is bad news cause now the stakes have been raised for the presidential race

By replacing him with who? Even if Cruz wins I don't think the GOP has an arm long enough to dig a bigger turd out of an infected rear end in a top hat at Liberty University.

I can't wait to hear about the "controversial" and "polarizing" career of a man that literally believed that the police should break into the homes of gay people and arrest them for having sex.

Rot in hell you evil piece of poo poo.

This Court has never held that the Constitution forbids the execution of a convicted defendant who has had a full and fair trial but is later able to convince a habeas court that he is 'actually' innocent

Where Scalia argues that you can execute actually innocent people after they received a "fair" trial. I hope they bury him somewhere where people can piss on his grave.

see this is a good opening example. what he was saying is we can never know the ultimate truth of any situation, so we have to rely on the judicial system which, if fairly administered delivers a fair verdict. "actually innocent" is a legal term of art that does not mean what you think. not to mention the entire quote was about a very specific circumstance where a decision is appealed

See this is a good opening example of where a decent person with a conscious says let's not clinically murder people strapped to a bed who pose no risk to anyone unless we are really super sure without a doubt that they are guilty and even then let's not clinically murder people strapped to a bed who pose no risk to anyone because what the gently caress man.

Yeah, I'm sure all the subhuman creeps celebrating a human being's death were padantic weirdos who actually meant "legal opinion".

The actually funny part is if they try to block the nomination, that makes the nomination the only issue in the entire presidential campaign, and is going to drive the under 30 demographic to vote more than ever in history. It's going to kill GOP's chances at the presidency entirely. In fact it would probably drive Bern straight into presidency.

Probably the only person that this wouldn't be bad for is Trump, Citizen United and overturning Roe V. Wade are hugely unpopular and until justice is confirmed democrats could for the Republican nominee to talk about how they want to appoint someone that supports both things constantly.

It's one thing the make the Roe V. Wade argument in the abstract but just wait until you back Cruz or Rubio in a corner and make them admit constantly that they want a judge that would ban abortion and that confirming such a justice was one of their top priorities.
