:barf: I was going to say skip the first 5 minutes if you don't want to see a Russian MILF doing her hair, but really, it just adds to the whole experience if you do. :barf:

Why do they have sunglasses on? Wouldn't a good counter to these people simply be "turn off the lights"?

Is that actually a thing that there aren't many black guys in these unit? If so is it a deliberate thing?

I'm sure the SAS have a hostage training room where they come in with live ammo and pew pew the things whilst real people are sat in the room. I may be talking bollocks but I seem to remember some quite expensive football players being in the room at one point.

Yep, thought so

Here, some blood sausage, here's some blood sausage, here's some blood sausage
For the Alsacians, the Swiss, the Lorrains.
The Belgians get none, the Belgians get none...
They're rear end-draggers (as in they don't carry their fair weight)
The Belgians get none, the Belgians get none...
They're rear end-draggers

We're clever, we're rogues
We aren't ordinary blokes
We often get the blues
But we're legionnaires

At Tonkin, the immortal Legion
A Tuyen-Quang showed our colors
Heros of the Camaron and model brothers
Sleep in peace in your tombs

Our elders knew well enough to die
For the glory of the legion
We all, too, know to perish
As is our tradition

During our campaigns in distant lands
Confronting fever and fire
Let us forget, along with our pains,
Death--who never forgets us
We, the Legion

This is the Spanish Foreign Legion. Why would they steal the French Legion song?

Not gonna lie, the droning noise was loving rad as hell.

I live just down the road from RAF Coningsby where the Battle of Britain memorial flight is based and during the summer just about every weekend you'll hear the drone of multiple Merlins.

The village I live in is tiny but every year at the village fete we get a visit by one of the planes. This year it was a Hurricane that buzzed about for a few minutes which was cool but the year before they had a Lancaster basically came right down the high street at almost tree top height, which had to be witnessed to be believed. :fap:

It's weird in that the M4 and T-34's kicked all kinds of rear end where German tanks...their reps are massively overblown. Like the Tiger, that thing was pound for pound, a massive loving waste and a piece of poo poo depending on if it was adequately supplied or not.

Gonna chalk it up to that one guys book who propagated the British referring to Sherman's as the Ronson while treating German tanks like they were all god tier. Can't remember the name of it at the moment.

I'm going to say round about the time World of Tanks came out you saw this massive upsurge in both Sherman memes and Internet Tank "Experts" appearing with massive Tiger boners.

Are they just really bad shots? It always surprised me how many times an automatic weapon is fired at someone and they just keep running.

When I was working in Iraq, my close protection detail always told me if I ever got in a situation where I under attack in a place, to just run away from the shooting as 99% of the time they'd be just too hyped up to actually aim.

Also a scroll down to the bottom of that ambush post is very loving :stare:

If you Google "STANTA training ground" you'll find a place with a complete German and Afghan town in the middle of Norfolk.
The German town was to train troops in urban warfare during WWII as it soon became clear that there was going to be a lot of it and that most Western Allied nations had no experience of it. Unlike all the Germans that had been redeployed from the Eastern Front. They had LOADS of experience of it.
The Afghan one was set up to train soldiers and included Afghan nationals and ex-Gurkhas as civilians and insurgents and also had a troop of amputee ex-servicemen constantly reliving the trauma of being mutilated providing realistic battle casualties.

God the cultural/political/military artifacts that the British Empire left in all the countries that they used to rule is just so weird sometimes. Another good example of this would be cricket and lawyers at least a few years ago in Kenya still wearing wigs.

Like going back to cricket I can’t think of a more snobbish and colonial sport short of maybe High School Lacrosse, though the later is more douchey then colonial, you’d think it would go out of style when the British left, but no it’s still hugely popular.

Going to have to defend cricket here, the governing bodies may be all old ex-colonels and old boys but it's actually a very popular sport across society, there's still an awful lot of "village green" type cricket teams out in the sticks.

Also just watch a 20/20 game sometime.
