The idea of a quiet stick is wonderful as long doesn't have any big downsides. I've bought the Hori Kai. I really like the Hori Hayabusa Joystick as it seems to be stiffter then the sanwa counterpart. The buttons have, after using a stick with sanwa parts, a very weird feeling to it. I used a Hori RAP3 VX SA - 360 Stick before, and the build quality of the case definitively decreased. There also seems to be some input lag. (I couln't notice this though). kebabman fucked around with this message at 10:55 on Feb 22, 2016 |

The only excuse of SF5 is being made by Capcom.

Haven't been able to play over the weekend, but I'm eagerly looking forward to getting back from work for more of this. A highlight yesterday evening was playing a single casual match before bed, getting a Necalli at 2k when I sit at 1k and just kicking the ever loving poo poo out of him. People who don't know to jab out of Laura's shoulder mixup are so much fun.

if there are any other claw players who hate chun-li out there: i was just sitting around in training mode figuring out how to punish legs. mk and hk are easy because they're super minus and leave her right next to you, but lk is tricky because it pushes her out of range of cr mp or st lp turns out you can punish it at any range with a reversal lk rolling crystal flash (edit: it can hit either three or four times depending on the range tho, so remember that) it's easy if you double tap gently caress chun The Timely Howard fucked around with this message at 12:20 on Feb 22, 2016 |

I really started playing fighting games with SF4. From there I started playing pretty much any 2d fighter (the VS games, King of Fighters, anything) though I'm generally equally terrible at all of them... But this game, this game I get. I had two games in a row where I lost the first round, the opponent decided to taunt the 2nd round, then I won 2 straight, and both times their losses caused them to rank down. Thats quite the vindication. As toxic as it often is, I wish there was a way to send a message to opponents, because I've had a lot of matches with legitmately good opponents and I wish I could send them some kind of acknowledgement. One guy (on ps4 apparently) sent me a battle request and we played almost 40 straight games, but I still had no way to send the guy a message.

It would be nice if they let you bind some of the Battle Lounge presets and fire them off during the 'YOU WIN *WUB WUB WUB WUB WUBWUBWUB*' screen because more than once I've wanted to say 'good game, good game' or 'It's snowing here!' after a tough fight I really love that Nintendo have made preset online comms messages fashionable because they're always really fun and allow you to get across the pertinent emotions without giving people avenues to be pricks.

Bought this for PC but I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800 which is from like pre-2010 I think so only half of the stuff in the game is rendering. It's pretty interesting fighting another mans and having no idea what your HP or meters are because there are no bars, also the Select Region screen on account creation was a complete guess so now I am from Brazil I guess?? Game is good, fun and easy to get into, most of my annoyances from SF4 are gone and playing the spacing and footsie game is much more fun than guessing left-right block and doing combos. Good Online Game, Bad Offline Game. Ryu feels kind of... bad? His fireballs don't pack much of a punch and his limbs feel pretty stubby, c.mk has so short range, I don't really know what to do at like s.mp range since none of my buttons are very good.

The Timely Howard posted:so i just played itazan Replace your pokes with something a bit... bigger. let me clear this up a bit. He knows that his st. mp is going to out prioritize your lights if they connect at the same time and the boxes on his button is better than most of the cast's. He also knows the frame data and spacing better than most of the people on the planet. They only way you're going to keep him honest is to set him up for a punishing crush counter and force him to use the rest of his toolset. You'll still lose, because it's itazan, but at least you'll actually make him play the game. A.o.D. fucked around with this message at 15:26 on Feb 22, 2016 |

A.o.D. posted:Replace your pokes with something a bit... bigger. no no, i meant all of claw's fierce buttons, as well you can't play the max range hp game either. it's a free mp x birdie headbutt thing on reaction because of how slow the move is - he can just punch the claw.

Chun is really cool and good, but man it's weird playing a character I don't have any experience with again after jamming Karin for most of my time in the final beta and first week of release. Also annoying going back to losing to random things because I keep dropping punishes. What's nice though is I already have a lot of the basic bnbs down in training mode because it's so easy to learn a new character. Now I just need to get them to the point where I'm pulling them off routinely during a match. Also figure out how to do instant air legs, that video posted last page was incredible. Someday!

The idea of a quiet stick is wonderful as long doesn't have any big downsides. This particular series of Hori sticks are pieces of poo poo, but I am glad they introduced me to the Hayabusa stick variant which is what I use in all of my sticks now. My problem with them, aside from the 15MS input lag (http://www.teyah.net/sticklag/results.html) is that the cases are too lightweight, and have a really cheap feel to them. The kuro buttons take too much effort to press. If that's your thing, great; if not - be prepared to have to buy 8 sanwa buttons. The extra buttons (PS button, share, etc) are located in an awkward spot that you can't see. In the first weeks of you using it you'll need to tilt the stick sideways to make sure you're press the right button. I also don't like the weird lunch tray shape of the stick, though that's just a personal nitpick.
