i'll do a writeup tomorrow on laura and i'll go through it then, i gotta work in the morning. just watching a bit, you got some fundamental mistakes like trying to force normals through after her lp elbow which is -2, stuff like that.

laura is at the point where i need to spend time forcing myself to learn her trickier stuff to start growing as a player, she has a very high skill ceiling and can do a lot of tricky stuff. i'm excited to see what she can do when people other than me start getting real good with her.

and for the last part, whenever you lose a match to a ryu or vega or chun or any other good character who never walks towards you because why would they, just go to the nearest posting device and slam your tear and semen soaked hands on the keyboard

snakeeyez is in the grand finals at wnf after losing his first match.

i really love just hanging out in a lobby and running sets forever, but there are tons of people playing so it makes it hard to find a good connection.

that said, they did a very good job on the matchmaking in ranked and casuals. i hit gold so i am never playing ranked again, but casual is very good at finding a good connection for me. i'd highly reccomend it for people just trying to grind.

obviously ft10 is the fastest way to play as much as possible, but give casuals a try if you're having trouble and want to learn.

The loop stops at the point where Ryu can start moving. Figured this is the amount of the animation you'd see when blocking before figuring out how to react.

Then I took these and made flashcards.

If I actually finish making them I'd want to just make it available for everyone, but I wish there was a decent flashcard app that supported animated gifs and was easy to access for everyone. Anki is mostly there except its phone version cost 25 dollars for some reason.

I'm still somewhat new to fighting games (well, actually trying to get good at them) so if anyone has any input on what type of flashcards would be useful, let me know.

when i am sitting in training mode, practicing combos while i wait for ranked casual matches to pop up, i try and practice them completely clean with as few inputs as possible.

of course, when i actually start playing a match i will be tapping like mad. it's awful. i tend to be of the belief that training mode muscle memory is completely separate from real match muscle memory, but grinding stuff out in the former will allow for progress in the latter. for instance, i can do all kinds of tricky stuff with laura's resets in training mode, but i absolutely don't have the discipline to do it in matches. it's not even about the inputs, it's about knowing when i can land that stuff and when they won't be jabbing out of my command grabs.

but yeah i double/triple/quadruple/etc tap constantly but i'm awful so

uh i really love this game and have been pretty consistent on that. please don't include that as part my character.

laura is real garbage though, good to see her win a little before she's rendered useless by matchup knowledge. such a bad character, no one should play her.

i am very happy like 5 people mentioned me when a laura was doing something. that's good brand penetration.

just watched the 4 hours of winter brawl top 16 i missed when i had to leave for work. li joe working the shimmy so well with nash is exactly what i love about this game. he does so well just by measuring distances, conditioning, and executing reliable punishes. been tooling around with necalli and nash a bit, really fun playing characters in this game that can get real damage walking away from someone in the corner.
