Played the weekly HVTs yesterday for the first time after coming back and oh boy it's a loot shower. We cleared the whole list in about an hour, maybe a little more.

Are the triple spawns actually random? Because sometimes we only got 1 boss and sometimes we got 2, sometimes 3.

Loot was insane. I guess it was like 20-25 items per weekly HVT. And we cleared the whole list. Seriously Massive, need bigger stash.

229 Scar-H blueprint down at the Terminal.

Oh poo poo, I literally just got an amazing Scar H drop earlier today. Between it and an M1A, I'm Alphabridging Brutal/Deadly/Destructive/Fierce/Coolheaded/that talent that does 10% more damage for 15 seconds after using a skill. I can roll off Destructive or the damage for skill use. I feel like I want to get Accurate or the skill that heavily increases stability after skill use, but it melts face as is. With my skills divided up to activate all talents, I'm sitting at 400+k dps, 300+k toughness, and whatever for skill power.

That said, I'm still going to try to get this blueprint.

Also, there's a pretty good M60 in the BoO, and another in DZ01 South checkpoint (5th Ave). I haven't done much with machine guns but I'm mighty tempted to play with them.

I think the M60 in the BoO has the talent that has a 25% chance to refill the magazine on kill. That's free ammo when it procs, right? You wouldn't even need anything but the exmags.

Generally yeah. There are definitely more optimized builds, it's just an example of how ludicrous they can get.

You should still be able to proc multiple bleeds that way, but the duration is really short also it's for a total 50% of the damage done by the 10 preceeding bullets so a low damage high rpm LVOA-C is going to be less impressive than say the M60 - that said it's still my favourite build so far.

You bet your sweet bippy it does, for extra effect I'm running with chain reaction talent as welkl for when I'm using BFB sticky bombs.

They do ban waves as far as I know. It doesn't feel as good as seeing Fairfight boot people from the game but it seems to work well for Overwatch so I don't see why it would be ineffective here as well. Plus the chatter I've seen is you aren't seeing hackers in the DZ right now, just groups of 4 plowing everyone else down.

So I've heard that the 1.4 patch actually makes things interesting post-30 now. For somebody who wants to try getting back into Division, is there a road-map you should follow past 30s or does the game do a good enough job of putting you on the right path for gear upgrades?

I've been running 4-piece Predator's Mark and find it to be quite useful. I primarily use the LVOA-C because I can proc the bleed effect almost instantly, even if it doesn't do an incredible amount of damage. I've had a lot of times when my mag ran out when I was about to finish someone off and the bleed effect did the job. The shrapnel talent helps in affecting nearby enemies, too.

I haven't collected enough for other sets so I reckon I may prefer Striker or Firecrest, but Predator is definitely serviceable. The 8% bonus AR damage for the 3-piece certainly doesn't hurt.

The game seems to do a good job. You get a notification when you've reached the appropriate item level for the next world tier. World tiers are basically like torment levels in Diablo 3, if you're familiar with that game.

As to your options for getting gear, you can play whatever you feel like playing and get upgrades. Gear drops much more frequently and all sets can now drop from anything. So you can do overworld, underground, replay story missions, dark zone, incursions...whatever you feel like playing will be an effective way to gear up. So just play!

Yeah I'm rolling the BoO LVOA-C from last week with Sustained, Destructive and Brutal, 4 piece Predator and 2 piece Striker - my current plan is replace the Strikers with a nice pair Savage gloves and Specialised pack to help power up my BFB sticky bomb ( which works nicely with shrapnel as well ).

Just so you know, Incursions are the only one that doesn't have mooks dropping loot. That said, you get XP per kill and so you can get 'Field Proficiency' level-ups (and thus, loot boxes) with anything you do, including during incursions. Otherwise, you're only getting loot at the end of incursions.

Well, Incursions give a lot of gear upon clearing it, plus the named enemies do drop loot. Incursions are also the only activity that rewards named weapons. So unless you're unsuccessful for hours on end there is good reason to play the Incursions.

That was a good run there. Just as we started heading out of that garage, I got Delta error dropped from the game. Was probably a sign from above as when I grabbed all that stuff my backpack hit cap and my stash is already 98% full. Just to give people some more perspective on how much stuff drops, my GS in 1.3 was about 215 or so, with the max tryhards at 255+. 1.4 lands, I'm at 200 to start and already pushing the new GS 229 cap. Now if the game will just give me a loving Strikers Holster, I will be happy (still using a 182 of that pc. in a 3/3 Lonestar/Striker "I have no idea what I was doing" setup) . I've vendored so much stuff just from maxing out my inventory I am pushing 8 million PVE-Bucks already.

Also, minor tip for you "must have all the skins & clothes" types - If you go to the Appearance vendor in the BoO and there's nothing for sale, you already have whatever they were going to be selling that day. If there's something buyable, you don't have it, so buy it !

Also in re: Multiple bosses in HVT/HRT missions: How many bosses you get is NOT random. There are missions that always have 2 or 3 bosses at the end. One I can remember right now was named something like "Brock Finster & Crew". So once you figure out (or someone charts them all) which ones are multiple bosses you will want to hit those up first.

The game drops loot for you appropriate to your world tier. The gear in your world tier will eventually scale you out of your world tier. Move up another world tier and repeat the loot grind. Except now the loot comes at a good pace instead of once every day.

Yeah, Brock Finster, Blood Sisters, and Nickel squad all have multiple bosses so for your intel, those are the biggest payoffs.

I did a quick tour of the open world bosses this morning. Didn't really find anything great but the loot is raining from the loving sky right now. I think I'm going to start collecting for an AlphaBridge set to go with my Lone Star since I don't really use the FireCrest bonuses.

I'm still feeling very squishy though on account of the armor changes.

Has anyone been able to play this game using a Steam Controller if they own the game on a Uplay account? This means that I have to add the game to Steam as a third party program. I think I have it all set up correctly. Problem is, when you launch Uplay games, you get that initial little splash screen from Uplay, then it closes, and then the game itself launches. I think this is breaking Steam Controller for me, because I suspect it sees that splash screen as the 'game', and then once it's gone, it stops trying to use my controller configuration. Once the actual game program launches, the controller is now stuck in desktop mode; the A button triggers chat in-game.

Roman posted:

Skip the funny stuff and just go straight, let people know that the game is good and fun again thanks to the patch to bring people back. While Brine's suggestion fits that, people will just see it as another Trump joke, and not realize that the game literally is great again.

Honestly, you'll be 95% fine with a regular M60, since you get more of them and the talents are more flexible. Hungry Hogs now drop with some randomization in the talents, but compared to a vanilla one (Predatory/Stable/Meticulous) something like a Brutal/Meticulous/Destructive M60 would be just about as decent.

I'm currently working with a Deadly/Meticulous/Destructive M60 E4 with 17.1k damage at 4000 firearms, LMG gloves, and the Lone Star 3-piece, and it's been more than enough for Underground and HVTs.
