Someone needs to make a documentary about whatever societal trauma lead to tentacle rape as a cultural meme.

I believe showing genitalia in a pornographic context is illegal in Japan, so tentacle rape came about as a way to show schoolgirls getting raped (okay) without anything disgusting like human sexual organs (bad)

I love Zod's lamentation after Superman destroys the Kryptonian ark. It's so poignant.

But I don't like the final battle in Man of Steel because neither combatant exhibits any injuries whatsoever before the neck-snap. No bruises, no torn clothing, not even any dirt on their faces. How is Batman going to fight Superman when even another Kryptonian couldn't even mess up his hair? That's a thought that has been hanging over my head as I watch each trailer. It's like Superman is just patiently allowing Batman to let off steam like a father play-fighting with his two-year-old.

I'd venture that's probably the point the film is going to go for. Batman's probably going to get in a good hit or two with his silly power armour but still get soundly trashed once Superman decides to fight for real.

I look forward to people saying that this means the movie is actually good, while continuing to decry other similarly bloated, brainless affairs as terrible despite making similar amounts of money.

It does mean WB is more likely to let Snyder keep doing his thing and less tempted to pull a 180 on the franchise and break out the quip book and low consequences 'fun'. In that sense, I am glad the film is selling well

Man.

People going out of their way to defend this movie sure do bring up Marvel more than actual Marvel fans. Seems kind of insecure. Why do you think the alternative is Marvel? I mean, Fox makes movies in a certain style too. Some of them have even been movies people like.

Because that's the most commonly presented alternative and what alot of blogs and fanboy commenters have been calling for, and as I like Snyder's take on the genre I'd rather not see that happen. Why is that such a controversial opinion?

I was really surprised that Penguin wasn't one of the villains that Nolan didn't end up using, he seemed like such a natural fit for Nolan for just that reason. I remember after TDK came out Nolan even said something about how Penguin couldn't fit into his universe, which I didn't really get.

All the villains in Nolan's trilogy were big picture villains who challenged Batman's ethics and the purpose of his existence, The Penguin wouldn't work because he is just some crime boss guy. Falcone fulfilled a similar role without having to be built up as an A-List villain like The Penguin would have.

Lex is trying to debase and humiliate the senator and in the end all he can do is piss in a jar and blow her up. It's crude toilet humour used to illustrate a wider character point and it does the job fine

He was taking her earlier tough talk and throwing it in her face you dolt.

Uh, yeah? I know and don't see how that conflicts with what I said at all. He spends the whole film trying to assert his dominance over everyone and bending them to his will, but she tells him to gently caress off and refuses to budge so in the end the best he can muster is a crude callback to something she'd said earlier and just flat out murdering her. It reveals what a spiteful, inadequate man he is beneath all his moral grandstanding about the nature of power and all that.

I guess you also think that Ben committed suicide when he let Vader strike him down and Luke was also trying to commit suicide when he refused to strike Vader down in the Emperor's throne room?

Did you people even watch all three movies? The whole "Abandoning the path of aggression and surrendering yourself to the will of The Force" thing was a pretty strong theme throughout all of them.

Obi-Wan sees Luke watching, smirks and allows himself to be cut down. That's not abandoning agrression, it's passing the torch.

They're doing a miniseries with the Netflix characters called The Defenders or something, that's probably what they're referring to

You're right we should just let them do whatever the gently caress they want, there's no way that will ever turn out bad. How silly of that guy for suggesting oversight would be a good thing.

This Superman was in The Dark Knight, Reagan sent him to murder Batman for making the government look bad.
