Mild Take I think Ted Cruz is scarier than Trump and in a heads up race I'd rather Trump be president. Trump is just clowning around and I doubt believes 20% of his bullshit but Cruz is one of those true believers and that is way scarier.

Someone asked Burfict if he blamed himself for the Pittsburgh loss, and wellBurfcit posted:"No, I don't. There was only a minute left in the game. Coach always says, 'Trust a teammate to pack your parachute,' and I trusted my teammate. I don't want to say any names, but I trusted my teammates to execute and finish the game." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25501510/vontaze-burfict-blames-bengals-teammate-for-playoff-loss-to-steelers

^^^^ the cap number for his contract for the next 3 years was $28m/$31m/$24m. I look forward to seeing what they did because this was a rough contract for Baltimore the day they signed it.Mel Mudkiper posted:So how comes his teammate let him down by fumbling but he didn't let the team down by getting a penalty that put them in FG range? It's like siblings getting in trouble. "Why are you guys so mad at me? Jeremy's the one who fumbled the ball ".

Mel Mudkiper posted:Wasn't his old deal only like two years ago? What gives. It was three years ago and year for was designed to be the restructure/extension year. If untouched his cap hit went up to 28 mil this year and something like 32 next. The contract was also unavoidable and Flacco would have made even more if he ever hit the open market. 2012 was a lovely year.

Yeah. It'll be added years, more guaranteed money, and lower cap hits. There is no downside here.

I wait to see the actual extension numbers cause odds are the Ravens are just kicking the can. His contract already had $25m in prorated bonuses left, so how they convert his high base salaries will be interesting. I expect they're signing themselves up for a situation similar to what the Saints got themselves into with Brees.
