There's a realistically - possible scenario right now where both parties put forward candidates favored by a minority of their voters. With Sanders it's both superdelegates and the fact that there's disproportionate allocation of delegates, and with Trump he could easily fail to get a majority and be ratfucked at the convention.

Clinton's lowest polling point is barely under 50. By the time the race is over and Sanders has endorsed her she will have well over 50% support

There are a lot of problems with the polling in this cycle, as Michigan just demonstrated. That said I didn't say Bernie was certain to win, just that a scenario where he won a majority of the popular vote in the primaries was still realistically possible, I.e., had a non zero, non-trivial probability.
