https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuhUIxZqR5I - Season 4 trailer SEASON FOUR PREMIERES WED. MARCH 16 @ 10PM ET ON FX Season 1-3 available on Amazon Prime | S1 & S2 is on most Netflix regions, Finland has 1-3. Website | Twitter | Facebook | Wikipedia | IMDB | Season 3 thread | Season 2 thread Synopsis posted:The Americans is a period drama set during the Cold War shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected President and is about the complex marriage of two deepcover KGB spies posing as an American married couple living in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C.. The arranged marriage of Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell), who have two children – Paige (Holly Taylor) and Henry (Keidrich Sellati), who know nothing about their parents’ true identity – grows more passionate and genuine by the day, but is constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War and the intimate and dangerous relationships they must maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control while avoiding being caught by FBI counterintelligence. The series was created by novelist Joe Weisberg (a former CIA officer) working under the tutelage of Graham Yost (Justified, The Pacific). Also on the writing staff is Joshua Brand, co-creator of Northern Exposure & St. Elsewhere. A number of people who were involved behind the scenes with Justified also work on the show. Season 2 had the shows writers working with Oliver North who wrote the episode Martial Eagle, for a first person account of the Iran-Contra storyline in which he was involved. quote:"The most interesting thing I observed during my time at the CIA was the family life of agents who served abroad with kids and spouses. The reality is that mostly they're just people going about their lives. The job is one element, and trying to depict the issues they face just seemed like something that, if we could bring it to television in a realistic way, would be new." I updated the second post of the OP in preparation for tonight with the teaser and promo videos and a couple of links to interviews and such. The interview by Vulture with the two showrunners is pretty good, mostly about the show overall with a little bit of season 4 talk near the end.Tortolia posted:I am glad you gave Mail Robot its rightful credit. Added two mail robot gifs just for you. Also it appears FX are selling a shirt of the robot on their store, they also have a few posters (but not the awesome ones) and such which you can grab.

A good strong start to the season, some solid spy work and some new disguises too! Also, season 5 confirmed! (even if the president of FX said that The Americans had at least 5 seasons in it the other year) https://twitter.com/joel_fields/status/710186959155683328 howe_sam posted:That's some amazing foley work

Just caught up with the latest episode, man, that was great. I liked last weeks with the Bowie (RIP) ending but this week had some proper spywork again with the FBI looking at the two apartments and the new handoff of the dead lab rat (episode is called 'The Rat' btw) which is all good and fun to watch. Man this is a good show, I want much more of it but I also kind of hope next season, or 6 at least season 6 ends it all, as much as I like the show it'd become a bit too... blase if it went for 7 or 8 seasons. At least it is gaining in popularity and getting more critical acclaim these days, at least form what I've observed around the internet. I've been making friends watch the show for a few years and everyone is always looking forward to the new season when it is on the horizon so that's a good sign. Anyway, when the show does finally end, it'll be a three and a half minute silent montage with 'Everybody wants to rule the world' by Tears for Fears playing over the top. drunkill fucked around with this message at 15:31 on Apr 24, 2016 |

Phillip was such a dick to Martha, should have lied and said he'd be on another plane next week etc. Way to make her have nothing else left to lose.

I want Tatiana and Oleg to listen to more Mail Robot recordings. I thought they'd catch up on them as soon as he returned from Russia a few episodes back and learn about Martha being blown.mcmagic posted:Zotov didn't seem all that happy that Gaad was dead... Poor Gaad. That'll be a few changes for next seasons OP images, no Nina, no Martha (maybe) and no Gaad.

Lots of development but nothing huge. Henry is really disillusioned now.

TheCenturion posted:I wonder if a "The Russians" spinoff could be pulled off in a way that didn't suck. Cardinal of the Kremlin basically. Not the same but Deutschland '83 (2015) is pretty good. East vs West Germany & NATO type stuff and briefly covers some things this season of The Americans left out, KAL007, Able Archer etc.

See, I named the thread this expecting more of a thing about the Evil Empire speech from Reagan, it was touched on sure, but not as much as I expected it to be. So there goes my joke link in the Season 1 Star Wars Program subplot with this season.
