Problem description: So after getting a new monitor, the old one I used as primary decided to act up when paired with the new one. It's dim as hell and no amount of color/brightness/gamma calibration will fix it, it's like the backlight is in powersaving mode. Main display is a 24" on a displayport, secondary is a 22" on hdmi. The 22" worked fine as the primary display when paired with another (DVI) monitor. Attempted fixes: Rebooting. New drivers. The displays work fine separately in single display mode, but not together. Cable swaps, different ports. Operating system: Windows 10 System specs: MSI GTX 960 could be relevant. Rest is a bog standard i5 setup from 2011 that I've never had any issues with. Main display: AOC G2460PG Secondary: AOC 2343 Location: The Island of Sweden. I have a feeling I'm missing something really loving obvious. I'll drop you a gift on steam or something if you can solve this before I tear my hair out. E: http://imgur.com/DbA2YGU E2: I'm retarded. I put in my 550ti gfx just to confirm and it's the same. Do you have a DVI to HDMI converter laying around anywhere? When you reinstalled the drivers did you boot into safe mode and use the DDU tool? http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Could you have a look in the ndivia driver controller and check the video color settings and the video image settings Was the 22 inch always connected to the HDMI port before you got the 24?

Tried all the suggestions, no dice. Next step is displayport->hdmi adapter I guess? Or I could just get another displayport monitor that's not a piece of poo poo.

there could be a rouge driver playing funny buggers with you or your hardware is faulty, If you have a spare 2 gig USB anywhere try making a bootable USB with ubuntu or linux mint and see if the darker screen issue is still persistent.

This is an old windows install, 2011ish win 7 upgraded to win 10 so that seem very likely. Do you have a link to something idiotproof?

FYI doing this deletes all the data off the USB so BACK IT UP if it has anything important on it. Download the iso for linux mint here https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=204 Download RUFUS here https://rufus.akeo.ie/ Insert the usb. Run Rufus, if it asks to check for updated press No Press the disk button next to the "free dos" drop down box (on the right) Navigate to the ISO for Linux Mint and click it, Rufus might need download some extra files, so let it, or the pop up might be in the next step. (cant remember) Hit start and wait for it to finnish. Once thats done reboot your system and (if ) your bios/UEFI has a key to select a boot device mash that a bunch until you come to a menu that should enable you to select a boot device. it usually got USB somewhere and press enter. Let linux load off the USB. IT RUNS OFF THE USB YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL IT. should be enough to get both screens on. Sorry about the lovely guide.
